What makes someone a “Conservative”?

BOTH party's Have and will continue to cause problems for the average American. We need some balance, and our government Working for All OF US.
not just those who bank role their re elections.

Thoughts?

I'm usually the most liberal of among my conservative friends and most conservative of my liberal friends. So, I don't consider myself part of either. In a discussion prior to the last presidential election my only comment pertaining the outcome was that we were screwed either way.

A first item that immediately hit me about your list was first the lack of mention of being fiscally responsible. Not only in personal matters but also desiring that within the government.

The second thought that came to me, and perhaps this is my own view of the matter, I see not sticking one's nose where is doesn't belong as being conservative. To me this lends to a desire for a government that tends to be far more isolationist.

Republicans have enforced right to work laws.
Mainly you can enjoy the benefits unions bring but you don’t have to pay.

It has strangled collective bargaining and employees threatening to join unions for better benefits

This created an every man for himself workplace with no protections for those who attempt to complain
No no a specific job where a worker is trapped and can’t get higher wages. Every man for himself is how it should be imo

Fiscal responsibility is part of small govt let me edit that to emphasize it

It all traces back to Ronald Reagan who sold us on supply side economics with a promise that a rising tide would lift all boats.

It only lifted the yachts
Complete garbage.
Women entering the workplace in the 1960s, the whole Feminist Movement had a huge impact. Lower wages/2-income families ... and that happened long before Reagan took office.
But because you're a Marxist, you have to blame those mean ol' Republicans!
Get a life.

In a nutshell, yes

Every Conservative decision branches from “I got mine, hell with everyone else”

Examples are healthcare, worker benefits, welfare, immigration, civil rights

From what I've read, due mostly with their greater association to a church, middle-income conservatives donate 30% more to charity than liberals.

A cornerstone of Conservatism
Blame a lack of initiative for why workers are struggling.

Rather than look at corporate profits and executive pay, blame each individual worker.
If you only worked harder and sacrificed more for your employer, you would receive more compensation
If you, in fact, teach people to be independent and self-sufficient, then corporate profits and executive pay (Something that has nothing to do with an individual's status in life), then they'll find ways to be successful in life. You teach them how to care for those they love and themselves, and to do so without being a burden to anyone else.

This is something you clowns never seem to learn.

A billionaire being a billionaire has nothing to do with your own economic situation. That is ALL ON YOU!

Yes it is when a billionaire is expected to contribute less to society

That is a common misconception
Contributing to your church pays for your Pastor, church facilities, heat, AC
Țhat does not help society as a whole

DEI ensured opportunity for all
But the level playing field was more about workers vs corporations than black vs white.

But you are correct about one thing
Conservatives used DEI as a way to pit the white workers against others in their workforce instead of workers against their employers.

DEI is the reason you are not succeeding, not a management that stifles your wages and benefits
My friends literally lost jobs cause they were white males or were passed over for promotions due to quotas.
