What makes one Conservative?

What makes one Conservative?

The same thing that causes so many white guys in Red States to commit suicide.

Fear. They are simply tired of being scared of everything.

I am sure you have the statistics that show they are cons.

You are so stupid and narrow minded...it is beyond compare.

What makes one Conservative?

It is less frivolous than two, and smarter than zero.

.

One ting the far left fails to see anytime they invoke the "Conservative" label is that a Conservative can be left or right.

Another far left thread fail!

Hmm, yea, let's see. White guys in Red States who own guns. Yea, now that I think about it, they must be liberals.

No...shallow thinking pricks who can't support their claims.....now that's a liberal.

Um, which "claim" are you talking about. Be careful. I haven't b!tch slapped a right winger today and am looking forward to it.

Something a bit more interesting than what's being posted today, although I'm using that term "conservative" loosely since nearly all here aren't conservative, they're Reactionary.

Scientists Discover the Fascinating Psychological Reason Why Conservatives AreÂ…Conservative
Right-wing ideology is tailored to a particular psychological profile.

A large body of political scientists and political psychologists now concur that liberals and conservatives disagree about politics in part because they are different people at the level of personality, psychology, and even traits like physiology and genetics.

That's a big deal. It challenges everything that we thought we knew about politics—upending the idea that we get our beliefs solely from our upbringing, from our friends and families, from our personal economic interests, and calling into question the notion that in politics, we can really change (most of us, anyway).

The occasion of this revelation is a paper by John Hibbing of the University of Nebraska and his colleagues, arguing that political conservatives have a "negativity bias," meaning that they are physiologically more attuned to negative (threatening, disgusting) stimuli in their environments.
(The paper can be read for free here.) In the process, Hibbing et al. marshal a large body of evidence, including their own experiments using eye trackers and other devices to measure the involuntary responses of political partisans to different types of images. One finding? That conservatives respond much more rapidly to threatening and aversive stimuli (for instance, images of "a very large spider on the face of a frightened person, a dazed individual with a bloody face, and an open wound with maggots in it," as one of their papers put it).

A fine thread. Thank you. It closely coincides with my long-held belief of what makes one "conservative" - FEAR.

Strangely enough, one thing that will lesson the "fear" is education. We know what Republicans think of education.

You don't know anything.

But I'll share with you that whoever you paid to educate you should be arrested for grand theft.

I would think so seeing as it would be your first time.

Where are your statistics (verifiable) on the cons killing themselves.

This isn't a statement of probability on your part...it was an absolute claim. With nothing to support it.

We've come to accept that from you and other lefties on this board.

Where DID Deanie go to school? Anyone know? There is a school of "higher learning" that is going to be a laughingstock if they awarded a diploma to you know who...

Frankly, I find it hard to believe that Deanie ever got the education that she's always preaching about but I would love to see some "lucky" college out there have the honor of being responsible for turning out our little buddy!
