China hold all the cards. If the U.S. doesn't buy their products, they will sell them elsewhere. If they are to take a loss, that is probably how they would prefer to do it. As for any country manufacturers might move their production to, Trump already probably has tariffs in place for them. He even place a tarrif on an island with no human inhabitants.

If they Chinese do not raise their prices to cover the tariffs, how do importers pay them? They are paying the same prices for products paid with tariffs paid by the providing country to sell their products. The importer does not pay the federal government to buy the products, dumbass!

They don't. The US importers pay the tariffs on the Chinese goods to the US government.

China is now importing a fraction of goods from the US than previously, so the Chinese tariffs on US goods have effectively closed that market to the US.
