The U.S. CENTCOM commander ultimately decides where our troops are positioned. And I'm sure he briefed Trump and Hegseth on it.

Ok, but I doubt either of them are telling centcom where to put troops and how to fight the war. I imagine trump and Pete give the broad plan of what they want to accomplish and it’s up to the military planners to figure out how that gets done.
