Almighty God already knew that the Sodomites were into gaiety when He deployed His Holy Angels to the city for an investigation.

BTW, Sodom wasn't the only city in that part of the world to name their town after gay sex acts.

The town of Bumfuq, Egypt- where an uncle of mine visited as a member of the US Army during WW2, had a name with a similar etymology.
