Imagine, when Trump was in office, the oil industry was over a year into a boom cycle. Gas prices were coming down. The US was also in an economic recovery stage. We were in no wars. The GOP had just won the trifecta. The house, senate and white house. Plus the SC leaned right.

There was nothing that could stop Trump from making good on all his campaign promises.

Cheap gas
Releasing the Epstein files
DOGE finding hundred of billions in fraud & waste.
A congress to codify all of that.
Plus massive cuts in spending
The border was going to be secure.
Violent illegals were going to be round up and deported
End the WOKE/DEI agenda
End government funded transgender surgeries.
End the war in Ukraine that was costing us so much

Things were going to be real good.. But within 6 months, Trump started backtracking on those promises. And now, after about 1.5yrs, most of didn't happen. And isn't going to happen. The border is secured. And several illegals were deported. The tax cuts are still in place. No tax on tips or social security. And I'll give Trump credit for getting rid of a lot of government employee's. That's always a good thing

But no spending cuts. In fact spending increased drastically. Kids can still get their trans surgeries paid for due to a loop hole, gas is through the roof, we're in a war and have bombed 7 countries in the last years. Trumps tariff wars have pissed half of Europe & Canada off. Job growth has slowed to about 30,000 per month. (if that many)

I was just thinking, how great things would've been if Trump had just stuck with his campaign promises.

Imagine if Trump actually thought that campaign promises were campaign promises.
He doesn't.

"“Look, there’s a tradition in American politics that after you win an election, you sort of put things behind you,” he told reporters inside Trump Tower. “And if that’s the decision he reached, that’s perfectly consistent with sort of a historical pattern of things come up, you say a lot of things, even some bad things might happen, and then you can sort of put it behind you in order to unite the nation.”"

To quote Trump. Elections are about winning, once you've won, do whatever the **** you like, who cares what the people think?

anyone that expects a politician to keep campaign promises has serious mental problems,,

similar to a drunk standing on a corner screaming at passing cars,,

Trying to derail the thread already?

People always promise more than they can deliver in politics.
