Imagine, when Trump was in office, the oil industry was over a year into a boom cycle. Gas prices were coming down. The US was also in an economic recovery stage. We were in no wars. The GOP had just won the trifecta. The house, senate and white house. Plus the SC leaned right.

There was nothing that could stop Trump from making good on all his campaign promises.

Cheap gas
Releasing the Epstein files
DOGE finding hundred of billions in fraud & waste.
A congress to codify all of that.
Plus massive cuts in spending
The border was going to be secure.
Violent illegals were going to be round up and deported
End the WOKE/DEI agenda
End government funded transgender surgeries.
End the war in Ukraine that was costing us so much

Things were going to be real good.. But within 6 months, Trump started backtracking on those promises. And now, after about 1.5yrs, most of didn't happen. And isn't going to happen. The border is secured. And several illegals were deported. The tax cuts are still in place. No tax on tips or social security. And I'll give Trump credit for getting rid of a lot of government employee's. That's always a good thing

But no spending cuts. In fact spending increased drastically. Kids can still get their trans surgeries paid for due to a loop hole, gas is through the roof, we're in a war and have bombed 7 countries in the last years. Trumps tariff wars have pissed half of Europe & Canada off. Job growth has slowed to about 30,000 per month. (if that many)

I was just thinking, how great things would've been if Trump had just stuck with his campaign promises.

Imagine if Trump actually thought that campaign promises were campaign promises.
He doesn't.

"“Look, there’s a tradition in American politics that after you win an election, you sort of put things behind you,” he told reporters inside Trump Tower. “And if that’s the decision he reached, that’s perfectly consistent with sort of a historical pattern of things come up, you say a lot of things, even some bad things might happen, and then you can sort of put it behind you in order to unite the nation.”"

To quote Trump. Elections are about winning, once you've won, do whatever the **** you like, who cares what the people think?

anyone that expects a politician to keep campaign promises has serious mental problems,,

similar to a drunk standing on a corner screaming at passing cars,,

Trying to derail the thread already?
how am I derailing it??

I said only lunatics thinks a politician is going to keep all their campaign promises,,

that is the topic isnt it??

In terms of campaign promises, Trump is probably the best POTUS in 30 years with regards to keeping campaign promises. Obama and Biden were disasters. Obama's excuse was you can't change DC from the inside. Biden had no excuses except for But Trump!!! OTOH, Trump has stopped illegal immigration dead in its tracks and no new immigrant caravans are pouring in through a wide open border. Tens of thousands of illegals are being deported. DOGE showed the country just how corrupt the government is. Trump released shit tons more Epstein files than Obama and Biden. We don't hear about all the woke BS any more. DEI is dead. I don't think the US is pouring hundreds of billions into Ukraine anymore. Trump is getting shit done. As much as I am against war, if Trump went after Maduro and Iran, it was probably for the best interest of America. Leftists are going to be leftists, but they have no credibility.

I see a lot of excuses for Trump. But only from the die hard Trump supporters. Which is to be expected. After all the lying & flip flopping he's done, I'm still not surprised he has supporters. We seen the same kind of loyalty when Obama was in office.

Trump has taken a huge dump on America 1st & MAGA. And it's starting to show. His poll numbers are plummeting. Those lower numbers are coming from disappointed MAGA people like me.

The decline started with his stupid hard on for tariffs.

That's a fact. People smart enough to realize that the US consumers are the ones who pay more. And that the end result was simply the government collecting more revenue.
When Trump bragged about all the money the government was collecting in tariffs, it was just slap in the face to those of us who were paying for it.

And we see leftists just being typical leftists. They think they are clever with their little mind games, but don't realize those mind games only work on leftists. I have bad news for you, the GOP still has much, much better partisan loyalty than the dumocraps have. The GOP is kicking ass and preparing the way to not only make sure the dumocraps don't win in the midterms, the GOP is working to pick up seats in the house and senate. But don't let that stop you from wasting every day here trying to convince 50 people to not vote in the midterms. Good luck!

Why shouldn't they if the people are dumb enough to believe it?

I could name about 12 reasons, right off the top of my head.
Wake me from a drunken stupor, and I could give you 7 reasons. ;)

Changing the subject to the democrats won't make the Trump & GOP problems go away.

This isn't a thread about comparisons. A "which is better" thread. It's a thread about how Trump has spit on us MAGA and America 1st voters. How he's flip flopped on the very things that got him elected.
And how much better things would be now, had he not lied and flip flopped.

Would you consider yourself obsessed with Donald Trump?

Be honest, I'm just curious as to how you perceive yourself. I won't argue whether you are or are not obsessed. I just want to know your thoughts on that.

The Trump and GOP are only a problem for the dumocraps. It's you leftists that refuse to look internally at just how fucked up and dysfunctional your own party is. We see it perfectly. The right is thrilled that the border is closed and tens of thousands are being deported. The right is thrilled that Trump gave THE WORKING CLASS tax breaks and is doing better. The right is thrilled that dumocrap cheating is being addressed and thwarted. The right does not see this as problems, only the dumocraps do. But hey, don't believe me and stay here 24h/day everyday and try to convince us the left is right and the right is wrong. Good luck with that! You'll see in November just how wrong you are.

The lesson here is that America needs and wants Trump’s campaign platform

Next time let’s have a candidate who is not: a) blackmailed by Bibi, b) a psychopath and c) a lying scumbag
