And the federal government has no business being involved in healthcare. It's a free-market issue.
Here's why...
Nonsense.
The notion that the quality of one’s healthcare, or whether one can afford access to healthcare, should be contingent upon his income is idiocy.
An immutable fact of ‘free’ market capitalism is that a significant percentage of the population will always be low income – where one’s income is such that he can’t afford health insurance or access to affordable healthcare, and where he doesn’t qualify for state Medicaid, assuming his state opted to expand its Medicaid program.
Whatever the costs and pricing for healthcare and drugs in a ‘free’ market might be, there will always be millions of Americans who cannot afford those healthcare costs and costs for drug prescriptions.
It’s perfectly appropriate and warranted for government to address the faults and failings of ‘free’ market capitalism – in this case the ‘free’ market’s inability to ensure every American has access to affordable healthcare, regardless his income.
