And the federal government has no business being involved in healthcare. It's a free-market issue.
Here's why...
We had a free market approach before Obamacare.
Women had to pay higher premiums, being a woman was a preexisting condition in some cases. Birth control was only covered if there was a medical reason, not for contraception. There were caps put on health care policies so if a person got a serious condition, they ran out of care because they reached the cap. Insurance companies could drop you for any reason they wanted and could deny a claim pretty much for any reason they wanted.
The so called free market approach caused a small handful of health insurance companies to carved up the nation and set their own rates. They took at the minimum 30% of your premiums and put it in their own pockets. Then turned around and denied to pay your claims with the money you gave them.
The problems with the "free market" approach are way too many to list in a message box but what it comes down to is that 45 thousand Americans died needless early deaths each year in our nation because of the "free market" approach to health insurance.
By the way, there is no such thing as a free market. Unregulated capitalism causes monopolies. Which crush competition, innovation and so called "free markets." Also our constitution requires tariffs and taxes on imported goods. It also gives the government the power to regulate commerce. You might want to read that document.
