Trump’s Big Medicaid Cuts Are About to Get Very Real

WTF are you talking about?

I had and have great insurance. It’s never changed except the cost has doubled and the deductibles went from 2k to 5k a year. Obiecare caused that. Anyone now needing insurance could have got it at half the price it costs now. You didn’t help anyone you just made mine cost more and put others getting their own even further out of reach.
That's the fault of the insurance barons, Mike.

I am on 100% VA medical and earned it the hard way.

OMAHA, NEBRASKA HAS BEEN BUSTLING with activity these past few days thanks to the annual Berkshire Hathaway weekend, when tens of thousands of investors from around the world gather to hobnob with Warren Buffett while they figure out how to maximize their portfolios.

But inside one office, a woman named Amy Behnke has been preoccupied with something very different and much more urgent. She has been furiously working the phones with state officials, trying to figure out how to keep some of Nebraska’s poorest residents from losing their health insurance.

Behnke is CEO of the Nebraska Health Center Association, which represents clinics that provide care to the state’s underserved population. Since 2020, she tells me, the percentage of total patients showing up to member clinics with no insurance at all—the ones who represent the biggest drain on clinic finances—has dropped from half to one-third.

That’s a sign of progress, and it’s no mystery what’s behind it. In October 2020, Nebraska officially became part of the Affordable Care Act’s Medicaid expansion. By taking advantage of federal funding that the state’s GOP officials had long refused—but that voters eventually approved via ballot measure—Nebraska was able to open up its program to any citizen or qualifying legal resident with income below 138 percent of the federal poverty line.

It seems trump devotees who avail themselves of Medicaid coverage are going to be in for another rude, trumpian awakening. Added to the list of awakenings like the cost of living, the price of gas, and a war with Iran with no apparent end in sight. All things they were promised not to have to deal with if they just gave a self-interested, convicted criminal another chance to run the country. What could go wrong? Turns out, a lot.
But at least he's spending money on war. His battleship which a Republican think tank has said is like going back to the 1940s, and a waste of $20 billion at least....

Yes, just crazy ideas that lead to the poor getting poorer and the rich getting richer.

Obamacare did not cause you to age 16 years since 2010.

It’s amazing how bad Obiecare fucked everyone over. The insured are now paying twice as much. The 30 million without insurance still don’t have any and the poor now have to rely on the government for it.

It’s been a lose, lose, lose for the entire nation.
(1) GOP fucked it up in Congress every chance it could.

(2) The insurance industry is lobbying them like crazy to do so.

(3) About 30 million working adults are without medical insurance today compared to about 50 million in 2010.

It'll get interesting. It's looking like Warsh is going to try to inflate us out of the debt mess, so between that and the Medicaid cuts, the bottom rung will be sinking even lower.

To hell with them, I guess. Okie dokie.
The only qualification any of Trump's appointees need to offer is to agree to lie, to glorify him & agree to make things worse for anyone who isn't one of his cronies or those who help to stuff his pockets.

Which is every single one of them, including Warsh.

No it was 30 million then and still 30 million now after butt ******* everyone else. Obiecare is a joke. It did nothing but cost the majority more for what they already had at half the price. It’s the perfect example of left wing policies. It doesn’t help anyone but just costs more.
