It would be logical to assume that it was the other way around, because the concentration and distribution of haplogroup Q in America is much higher than in Asia. What evidence is there that the migrations were not in the opposite direction, from America to Asia?

This is indirectly confirmed. There are studies of the Dene-Yenisei languages and there is evidence that there was a wave from America to Asia. In general, migrations were two-way. Mark Sicoli of Georgetown University and Harry Holton of the University of Alaska Fairbanks concluded that the migration of people from Asia to North America was not strictly unidirectional. The authors presented their results in the journal PLoS ONE
