The problem is that doctors don’t treat the real problem which keeps the suicide rate high, because people unhappy and insecure in their lives don’t get better by pretending they are okay.

Not at all. Many transpeople can function, but many more cannot. Same with people with delusions of grandeur.

Transfolk wind up homeless, on drugs, and have a shockingly high suicide rate that has never been shown to be mitigated by "affirming" surgery.

Homelessness among transgenders is also much higher, as is drug addiction, alcoholism, and intimate partner violence, including murder, than among non-sufferers of GD.
