What happened to TRUE bi-partanship?

Yep. That's what talk radio and then the internet has done to two generations of (what used to be) conservatives.

They're at war. The rest of us are not. Shades of 9/11.
Conservatives haven't changed, its the globalists that changed. Trump showed the GOP what "America First" populism is about. Xiden is a globalist, look where GM is building their new Volt plant, in Mexico. Stupid democrats.

This has been a process. Each end of our political spectrum has slowly become more radicalized, just giving the other end more material to become more radicalized. It all feeds on itself. That has broken down communication. When communication has broken down, misinformation and decay follow.

This is a self-inflicted wound. We're being brought down by our own hubris and ego.

Yeah, why did you bring up illegals coming across the border to vote then?
As an example of how the parties differ and have no common ground,
I can list more policies that we can never agree on:
Open Borders and lax immigration policies, build the wall, tear the wall down
Defund the police, we disagree
Russia First Energy policies (approve Nord Stream 2, but kill KeystoneXL, then ask Russia to pump more oil, WTF?)
Lax Military posture, look at the AFG catastrophe, Xiden still thinks he did good???
The Green New Deal, wasting $trillions
"Wokeness"
Support of criminals, no bail, etc.
Reprogrammed US education system: Critical Race Theory vs Traditional/Family Values
Oppose school vouchers, we support school vouchers
China First trade policies, Hunter gets $$$$
Outsourcing jobs by taxing corporations so much they relocate
HR-1 grab for one-party rule, never happen
Make DC & PR new states taking over the US senate forever
Replacing the Electoral College with the popular vote, never happen
Totally turning the US into a socialist/failed state.
Packing the US Supreme Court with Leftists, never happen
Look at the $7T "infrastructure" Bills and new taxes to pay for it

You can thank Newt Gingrich and his "Revolution" for the end of that. That's where it all started to end.
The Contract with America in 1994 was a salve to heal some cuts. Clinton hurt himself his first two years as he was totally different then what he spoke about before the 1992 election. The Contract with America after the 1994 election helped his Presidency. But a lot of it was temporary and not permanent. Smoke and Mirrors in government loans and military cuts and the massive taxes from the the greatest decade of tax resources received from the Baby Boomers who started to slow down their spending by the end of the decade.

Back in the 80's, President Regan (republican) and Tip O'Neal (democrat & majority whip) would leave contentiousness outside the the capitol steps and socialize, and have lunch together frequently. We lost that, and I miss that. I know it sounds pat, but...united we stand, divided we fall.
Wrong. We have too much bipartisanship. The Ds and Rs almost exactly the same on the big issues, just like Don and Joe are nearly the same.

There is overwhelming bipartisanship for the war machine, massive government spending, limitless corporate welfare, elimination of American’s rights by ignoring the Bill of Rights, tax policy that benefits the ultra wealthy and big corporations, lack of HC for Americans while big hospital and pharma make enormous profits, etc………………

You exeplify the problem in America right now
Translation:
“I really miss those traditional bipartisan ‘conservatives’, the ones who didn’t conserve, preserve or protect anything, the ones with no ball-sack, the one’s that would thump their Bibles, polish the AR-15’s they’d never have the balls to use and ignore us disgusting degenerates while we run amok, trashing and transforming their nation into the no borders, no boundaries anything goes socialist shithole we seek.”

Moderate Democrats were purged from their party and the lunatic left took over. The Dem party used to tell the left wing to shut the hell up, now those nut jobs are in charge. :cuckoo:

coming from someone who just, in this very thread, blamed republicans for all the problems, I bet he takes that as a compliment.
I don’t assign blanket blame. If you think I blamed all republicans then you misunderstood

Don’t translate for me. You are piss poor at it

The Democrats stole our guns and murdered our children.

Bi-partisanship is dead. There is just too much baggage and policy differences between the parties to agree on anything. Just look at the southern border as an example. The GOP wants to control immigration and the democrats want open borders because they think they can win elections with millions of new democrat voters. So we will ping-pong policies going forward, whoever wins elections will re-write the laws and Exec Orders.
Build the wall, tear down the wall, build the wall, tear down the wall.....
You’ve been brainwashed to think the Left wants open borders just like your wingnut opponents have been brainwashed to think all on the right are racist. I know many on the left that support border security. Obama did a lot for border security. Certainly not open borders. Wake up, you’ve fallen deep in their trap. Don’t be a puppet

Repubs radicalized! You wouldn't have seen the insanity over the last half century or so without them helping the cause of Progressive Socialists. What was needed has been abused. And now it is just a revenge game from those educated and taught to do so that are empowered.

Truthfully, it's dead, and it's never coming back.

You can look at some of the responses in this thread to see how bipartisanship died. You have to love how both sides will blame the other for something while conveniently forgetting they have done the same thing.

It dissapeared when we started having forced diversity in the country and people stopped loving america and instead started grouping up to make America what they want. Now we have groups that refuse to conform to societal norms.

It also started when the country started catering to young people instead of actual adults that know how the world works better because they have lived in it. Now green haired 20 year olds that live at home and go to college for a degree in underwater liberal lesbian dance are getting to be listened to when they should be ignored until they have actually grown up.

Those are 2 of the biggest factors really because now they caused society to splinter so much and each splinter has exponentially hardened their stance and refusing other stances or ideas because now everyone thinks they deserve to have things be the way they want and don't give a shit about society as a whole.
