but I mentioned the CHURCH (which produced the New Testament/preserved the Old)

you just don't see it or maybe you just blind yourself. Many do... which I guess is how they end up in Hell. It certainly is not God's fault.

If youre interested, here is my basis for belief. Its a Carl Sagan philosophy that goes something like this...

"I have an invisible dragon in my garage. You cant touch it, you cant see it, you cant smell it, you cant hear it or otherwise detect it with any instrument, but it is real."

Do you believe me? Of course not. You werent raised to believe in my invisible dragon. All of us have an innate bullshit detector, and the more extreme the claim is, the more extreme the evidence needs to be in order to convince us. If someone tells you that they ate eggs for breakfast, you are likely going to take them at their word, but if they tell you they have an invisible dragon in their garage, you will require a shit ton of evidence before you believe it.

You and I both agree that all other religions on Earth besides yours are false, but I just take it one logical step further and apply the same standard to your religion too.

Here's something: Just because you have no evidence of God doesn't mean no one else does. But I've noticed how it seems to endlessly bother atheists to see people who are not atheists..

laugh... It's almost like they have to .. just feel totally compelled to.. try to get Christians to stop believing in Jesus.. It's like they have to "evangelize" Christians (to their non-Christian beliefs). What's that all about?

People go to Hell because they live for themselves and for the world though we are told not to get attached to the world. Jesus is usually 4th or 5th in priority in most people's lives, apparently. And no, I'm not saying I'm perfect either. There are many things to distract us away from Him.

13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Why did Jesus teach this? Because he is God and knows the end from the beginning and knows what choices people will make with their free will. He knows that many are lovers of darkness rather than lovers of light. Jesus cannot force us to be good beings because we could never be a good being by being forced to be so. We would only be robots. But if we choose in and of ourselves to be good beings, then we truly become good beings in and of ourselves. Jesus taught that in my fathers house are many mansions. The kingdom of God is not a strictly heaven or hell proposition. But the highest degree in the kingdom of heaven is what God wishes all of us to achieve. However, knowing the future and what choices we will make with our own free will, God knows that we will not all choose to enter the kingdom of heaven. Some will choose the lowest degree in the afterlife which is the lake of fire and brimstone, aka outer darkness, or hell. Jesus knew Judas would betray him before he did. It is due to God giving us free will and also due to him having foreknowledge of the choices we will make. He has relayed this information to his church.
