Following on Graham's path to insure that abortion remains a state issue, West Virginia says "hold my beer" and bans abortion with limited exceptions - verified by police - up to 8 weeks (aka a defacto full ban).

What could go wrong?

West Virginia Legislature passes abortion ban with narrow exceptions

Under the new measure, rape and incest victims could obtain abortions at up to eight weeks of pregnancy if they first make reports to law enforcement officers.
West Virginia's Republican-majority Legislature passed a near-total abortion ban Tuesday, making West Virginia the second state to pass a ban since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in June.

The state Senate passed the bill 22-7, and the House approved it 77-17.

Under the new measure, rape and incest victims could obtain abortions at up to eight weeks of pregnancy but would be required to make reports to law enforcement officers. Victims who are younger than 18 would have until 14 weeks of pregnancy to obtain the procedure.

...and in the state of West Virginia, thousands of unborn children let out a collective sigh of relief.

Montani Semper Liberi, little West Virginians. Perhaps one of you will be the one to find cures for cancer, AIDS, and liberalism.

Well, it is West Virginia, so there's that...

Just what the country needs: More dirt poor Appalachians.
West Virginia tries to save dark people in the womb and leftists are pissed. No surprise here.
But but but…We swear, we love dark people.

Interesting how the poor states lead the way. The humbler simple people usually have the right way. Just like poor Africa leads the Catholic Church in many ways. The Northeast US should have the answers, but they don't. They embrace wickedness and think they know more than God. The wealthy and the 'educated' and the haughty think they are gods, and discard the true God, the God of Abraham.

"Blessed are the meek. They will inherit the kingdom of God".

Was I mistaken is believing the Democrat's assertion that they stand for the poor, the working class, and the underdogs?

Apparently they were lying to us. The reality is, the Democrats are the party of the rich elitists, big tech, big pharma, and wealthy foreign globalist interests which wish to see this country brought to its knees.

Carry on, Dems. You're doing one hell of a job.

The only thing democrats are good for is self righteous lectures that they don’t adhere to themselves.

Lead the way in forced birth, not health care or education for those children.
With mind-numbingly rare exception, nobody is forcing those women to get pregnant. Stop using the imagery of "forcing women to have babies" when you know damn well that those pregnancies come from laziness, irresponsibility or correctable ignorance.

So if we kill 'em in the womb, we won't have to feed them, doctor them, or educate them, and they won't grow up to vote for any Republicans, right?

That's what's called "eugenics." You just made Margaret Sanger and Adolf Hitler smile a little.

This was a bipartisan bill. You "forgot" to mention that.
