Tell me when it was ever repealed or overthrown. It was never "tossed out the window", a new government simply replaced the old one. But it is the same government, the same one that has existed since 1776.

I just did. In Philiadelphia in 1787. They did away with the Articles of Confederation, our first Constitution. Which was declared perpetual. Our Union is based upon the Constitution. Once that Constitution is done away, that Union is done away.

And as I said, they were careful not to use such language as 'perpetual' when creating the next one. Since they threw the first out the window.

In other words, nothing perpetual about the Union.

The South listened to the hotheads and voted to secede

Then they listened to the hotheads and attacked Ft Sumter

They got what they deserved

There were a lot of hotheads at that time. Changes nothing to what I have said and proves nothing from you.

Actually the South didn't get what it deserved as the South was doing nothing wrong. Slavery was legal and protected by the Constitution. They should have had the same rights and protections as the so-called free States under the Constitution.

The South left the Union because the North refused their protections under the Constitution. Which, as I said before, is why the North had to change the Constitution after their military victory. The North were traitor to the Constitution in 1861, as it wouldn't allow them to do what they wanted. Thus they decided it was worth it to go to war to fix that. They went to war, got their military victory, and then set about to create the Constitution that allowed them to do what they wanted.

The South was an Evil Empire

An empire built on slavery of its citizens.
An economy built on free labor
A nation with 40 percent of its people in bondage
A nation that bred humans for profit

They deserved what they got

The South’s protections under our Constitution was the right to vote, to elect representatives to Congress and the President.
The remedy to your grievances is not secession but to have your voices heard in Congress and convince others that your position was right.

In this case, the South’s position was the expansion of slavery. They saw the handwriting on the wall that new states were not going to allow slavery.
Rather than work within the Constitution, they chose secession to form an Evil Empire.

If Puerto Rico voted tomorrow to leave MAGA America, would you support TRump using the US military to bomb them into submission?

This demonizing and de-humanizing of Southerners and Texans of that era is why there was so much pushback against the memory-holing of Confederate heroes.

For more than 100 years after the Civil War's and Reconstruction's end, the nation recognized that former Confederates, and residents of the former Confederate States were as American as the heroes of the Union and residents of the Union.

Honoring those heroes on both sides by people from all regions of the country, even in states that did not exist as such during the Civil War was part of the healing of the relationship between the states, which is the foundation of the United States.

In fact, before long "still fighting the Civil War" was said about people thought of as aging cranks and comical Granny Clampett types.

Now we have a new generation determined to re-fight that war. Instead of aging retirees, who had a long and productive work life, we have blue and green-haired miseducated youth with no work history and the politicians who pander to them in spite of their relatively small number.

The more we listen to them, the more time we waste, thus the less time for our own creative and poductive efforts. We have beaten them. They lost. We have a president with staffers who will restore many of those monuments. The rest of us can go about enjoying the improving economy, safety, and world respect that is also being restored.

The money and time spent digging up Confederate monuments accomplished absolutely nothing except for being the one and only example of "shovel-ready jobs" promised by Democrats (and "not Democrats").

Those monuments were erected on a town by town basis. The decision to use town funds to build Confederate monuments were made by white mayors and white city councils. Even though blacks objected to these monuments, they couldn’t vote and would be beaten up or had their houses burned down if they said anything.

Now these same towns have black mayors and black city councils. They are making decisions to remove those monuments that are offensive to a large portion of their voters

True.

Terrible times under Democrat Party rule.

Yes, that is what they are doing instead of focusing on the filth and crime that infests their cities.

When they are not re-fighting the Civil War and Reconstruction, they are vilifying President Trump for being willing to step in to provide their black residents with the safety and security the Mayors and Councils have been unwilling or unable to provide.

Exactly what white city councils were doing when they erected Confederate monuments while ignoring poverty (especially in the black community)
It costs very little to remove a monument

We all saw that you would not answer the question.

And we all know why.

Leftard asshole.
Why do you continue to show your ignorance to all?

Puerto Rico is not a state and they have had referendums on both statehood and independence.

No, sir.

In the days in which white city councils approved the installing Confederate monuments, cities were not the filth infested, crime ridden hellholes that they became under Democrat rule.

More revisionist history

The cities that were erecting Confederate monuments were strictly Jim Crow and its black residents lived in abject poverty. Those cities provided few amenities open to black residents and schools, libraries, medical care for black residents were substandard

True.

But they were not crime-ridden hellholes.
