The only reason I can think of why we have so many people not in the work force is that food stamps is better which is why those programs should be ended.

Food stamps are needed to subsidize the pay companies like WalMart pay their employees, for one; the vast majority of jobs created now don't pay subsistence wages, and have to be supplemented. For two, people can't afford t migrate around trying to follow low paying part time jobs that spring up in other cities states, they're pretty much stuck where they are.

If welfare was Federalized and not dependent on state distributions and requirements, the poor would be able to move around more easily, but nobody on the left or the right wants that. Since nobody wants to raise minimum wages to anywhere near match inflation and outsource every single high productivity manufacturing job possible and hand out green cards for those jobs they can't outsource, then we're going to have to depend on food stamp programs, housing programs, medical programs, and all the rest of it. And, the faux 'left' and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce will have to grow up and admit criminal illegal immigration is wrong and immoral and help shut it down, or even these weak safety nets are going to collapse.
