Good bad or ugly these are people in their past. They can also symbolize strength, courage under fire, and are a part their heritage.. I don't believe a southerner looks at a statue of Robert E Lee, and thinks, "Our Beloved Defender of Slavery". Blacks aren't the only ones allowed to visit or cling to their past.

We are in the midst of an assault on all things white. Past, present and future. It will last as long as the globalists pay for it and the ignorant pacify it.

My great great great grandfather (like most) didn't have a choice. He was a poor farmer who never owned slaves. Based on his journal entries, he wanted nothing to do with that war or the agenda of the rich plantation owners. What decision would have been the right one? Desert and be hanged, or fight and try to stay alive so he could get home and support his family? Was he dumb for making the decision to fight?

The Left would be opposed to banning the Battle Flag as it is their symbol.
It was Democrat Governors of Democrat states in The South that flew The Battle Flag over State Capitals to protest Civil Rights.
The Left does not actually want statues removed, or the Battle Flag replaced. They just have no principles over such things. The only principles they have are No Principles.
They are just as happy burning the Confederate Flag as they are The American Flag, so long as it suits their AGENDA.

Without a Target and Symbol to whip up their Ignorant Masses and rally them around, they have little to no chance of political success. You can only take a free country so far to the left in to Socialism before it is no longer a Free Country.

The Left believes that without Donald Trump to hate, without The Battle Flag to Hate, and Groups of People to Hate, and Shop Windows, Police Cars, and the American Flag to Hate, that they cannot influence The American Public in to a Fear Response to support them Politically.

The moment The Left gains control again, The Battle Flag will be revered, and General Lee will return to being a Southern Gentlemen who surrendered The Confederate Army rather than forcing the country to go through a couple more years of war, and then who worked to reconcile The South with The North.

I have lived in the South over 30 years and like it and most of the people, but for the life of me I don't know why you're still fighting the civil war. Do you really know who your ancestors are? The Jews weren't much different than anybody else in the Civil War.

It should be noted that Jews were less willing to join Jim Crow, and along with the Catholics were early supporters of ending the southern apartheid.

But growing up in the West and living here for half my life to date, I think it's akin to having the mythology of the West without the cowboy, or in Colo not having the fur and silver/gold trade. Of course, latino citizens, and even blacks were amongst those cowboys and traders. Now the Native Americans got screwed. I spent summers very close to the Pine Ridge Sioux Reservation. The absolute worst poverty I've seen.

But telling a southern boy-child that he can't dream of being in Pickett's charge and winning at Gettysburg is not culturally possible. Southern mythology isn't much different that other American mythology. You can dream of cowboys without noting the genocide of native americans. Just because you dream of Pickett doesn't mean you want to rape a black girl or whip the skin off a male.

The UNIQUE thing about the south is that most of these statues are NOT tied to the actual civil war, but were erected on public land under Jim Crow and were part and parcel of telling blacks they weren't political participants in their own country. In a perfect world, there'd be some acknowledgment the statues can stay, but we include symbols of the reality of man's inhumanity to man as well.
