Feminism has helped many a young woman who does not want marriage and kids to overcome the wrongfull societal pressure to have to be married and procreate. This is a nation where people are free to choose what they want rather than a society pressuring them into something they dont want because is s ",tradition". Nobody is stopping anyone from getting married if that is their wish. Look for the trend to continue. No sense crying about it.

1) how do you know what's going to make an individual happy? Perhaps a growing number want their independence and dont need a family to be happy. The great part is there is not a darn thing a country can do to force marriage and kids. That's a wonderful thing.
2) Nobody is preventing a woman from getting married. They're free to do so if thats what they want.
3) Having kids isn't a healthier decision for every person.
4) the current trend is only going to pick up more steam.

As marriage rates are dropping the two sides are figuring out nobody owes the other a thing. Neither sex has a duty towards the other sex. Want marriage? Great, go get married. Don't want that? Then. Don't. Society is slowly becoming less gregarious and more silently independent.

I must live in a different world. All the young people I know have good jobs.

Then inflation goes up, brings wages down, back to square one. Cook at home and say no to takeaways/fastfood, say no to the latest mobile phone etc.. Younger generations don't.

I was a manager, wife worked part time. We had two kids. I owned two pairs of jeans, and two pairs of shoes, I didn't waste money on clothes. My phone was a basic Nokia. Our holidays where at Haven sites. Later in life, we finally took the kids on a Spanish holiday. The kids had both sets of grandparents, so they helped out with some school pick ups etc.. But nursery fees do put a dent in finances. Luckily I had a discount card with work that gave me discount in a shop that sold nappies, baby stuff etc..

Couldn't imagine going through life without having your own kids.
