We have six days until snap/food stamp cards might run out of money…predictions

Options:

Dems cave and open the .gov before then?

Dems pass a stand alone bill for SNAP?

States cover the shortfall with their rainy day funds?

Blue cities burn?

IMHO

There has never existed a time in contemporary Western society when the population of "helpless" fat people was larger than it is today....The last I read it's around 47 million in the US on SNAP/EBT.

Because of all the "help" our society has given people, we now have tens of millions of fat people who can't live without that "help".

And we've now reached the point where we don't know what the heck else to do with them. 😐
It's all fine and part of the plan for operation "Chucky Cheese", people starving will increase the Congressional Democrats "leverage" ...

"I mean, shutdowns are terrible and, of course, there will be, you know, families that are going to suffer. We take that responsibility very seriously. But it is one of the few leverage times we have." -- Katherine Clark (D-MA), House Minority Whip

So sayeth the quiet part out loud.....

sorry. I missed the whole thing. I was just thinking. DID YOU KNOW that afghanis in this country are 45percent of those on ebt/welfare? somalis are next at 42%.
DO ANY OF THESE PEOPLE ACTUALLY WORK? OR if not the former...... is their fulltime job training for and planning terrorist attacks on this nation when leadership gives the go ahead?
You’re retarded. LINK IT *****.

There are ONLY about 400,000 total people in the US from Somalia and Afghanistan COMBINED. If all of them were on SNAP (ebt is a payment method of SNAP and welfare isnt anything) it wouldn’t add up to your ridiculous numbers. NOT even close.

You only believe that because you are either stupid OR ignorant OR a cult member. Why would you believe those numbers?

Nope, shut it down.

I don't mean SNAP, I mean the federal government.

No one works.

No one gets paid.

No one gets back pay.

Social Security checks, military retiree checks, financial services, air traffic, rail traffic, ports, law enforcement, military stay in the barracks and are given a weeks worth of MREs, federal prisoners are locked in their cells with a weeks worth of MREs, etc.

"People are going to start feeling real effects" - people should have started feeling real effects on October 1st.

WW
Even more of your endless stupid rant!

1) People on food stamps buy high-end meat at Whole Foods when they SHOULD be buying ground beef at Safeway.

2) People who COULD be working full-time choose not to because part-time with food stamps is more appealing to them.

3) Baby daddies think they’re doing “their part” by getting their baby mamas onto food stamps instead of supporting their own baby.
You know this how? Do you camp out at Whole foods and check everyone's cart and that they are using an EBT card?

How do "baby daddies": get their kids on food stamps?

I don't mind facts but endless vitriol you have against people serves no purpose. My daughter got SNAP for her kids once. Her husband abandoned her and the boys and they moved in with me. She shopped at the PX because she still had her military dependent ID card. He did nothing towards their support for nearly two years. She worked part-time for TSA and then got full-time and then no longer needed the benefits. That is what it was designed for.

Burn the cities, make S'mores in the flames.

Just speculating, but that ^ might be the real goal here. After seeing the clip of an unhinged woman saying she was going to steal food, and knowing how food in general tends to cause people to go crazy and throw tantrums...I'm starting to think this whole SNAP running out thing might be yet another pretext for "Order out Chaos."

My wife was a federal worker. During these shutdowns they could collect unemployment. If its good enough for millions of Americans who have lost a job, its good enough for them.

No sympathy.
Bullshit! She might have been laid off, but you cannot draw unemployment unless you are laid off by the employer. Temporary shutdowns are NOT covered by unemployment because you will be paid eventually. It's the same for teachers during summer break.

Pelosi?

You're making shit up.

That's what tRump is saying but he want's them to eat in outside looking at the new Epstein Ballroom.
nearly every republican has voted in favor of the CR to keep the gov open .. nearly every democrat has voted against it .. the shutdown was caused by democrats .. lies wont change that fact ..

I see you took another opportunity to prove you cannot read for comprehension.

From your link:
"State UI laws regarding eligibility vary. You may apply on or after the first day you are furloughed. The state where you file your claim will determine your eligibility. In general, furloughed employees should be eligible as long as all other state eligibility factors are met."

IOW, the federal government does not pay unemployment, and they have no idea how it works in your state.

If you don't want me correcting your erroneous assumptions, learn to read.!

You said and I quote: "...but you cannot draw unemployment unless you are laid off by the employer. Temporary shutdowns are NOT covered by unemployment because you will be paid eventually. It's the same for teachers during summer break."

The actual facts show you are wrong, even the OPM (Office of Personnel Management - i.e. the Trump Administration says they can).

In Virginia, ya they can.

And no it's not the same as teacher's during summer break because teachers are typically not 12 month employees, they are contracted for 10 months.

In Virginia furloughed Federal workers can get unemployment (which they will have to pay back) but teachers cannot because of their contract status.

That's funny. I just proved that it depended on the state and I have filed for unemployment in three different states in my lifetime and the rules are all the same. I couldn't draw unemployment from Virgina when I lived there! If I was not laid off, I got nothing. I was forced out of the Navy and got nothing.

Yep they can, its called "double-dipping" and its illegal. Hope they get arrested and/or fired.

There isn't "Double Dipping".

If a furloughed Federal employee qualified under the state unemployment rules, any money received will have to be repaid after the shutdown

That was exactly my point, but WW knows better.

I do, since I'm the one posting links showing what I say is true.

I guess he is constantly being laid off and must know VAs laws by heart. :auiqs.jpg:

Never been laid off in my life, but I do work in HR Information Systems. Never said I know the laws "by heart", but I do know that what you said about furloughed federals employees not being eligible for unemployment was false. They do as long as they qualify under individual state rules.
