McCain is a republican conservative so asking this question seems a bit bizarre. Is not Republican policy anti-tax, anti-healthcare, anti-welfare, why then would they support first responders anymore than than they would support children in America, universal healthcare, or aid for the starving throughout the world. But I am picking on the premise of the question and not McCain as I don't know how he feels about any of these issues.
