Congress has investigatory powers for a couple of reasons. The main reason is to study to determine if some new law is needed? The 1/6 incident doesn’t require any such thing. There are already laws on the books that prohibit vandalism, breaking and entry, disturbing Congress in session and things like assault. So, that paper-thin pretense cannot be their reason, here.

They can also investigate another branch as part of checks and balances. But the 1/6 protestors and the 1/6 criminals weren’t part of government. So that paper-thin pretense is just as fruitless.

We all know what “Congress” is doing. It’s not really Congress. It’s the DNC making use of their slim House majority. It is a partisan political media event. They are choreographing and staying a show. They hope it will generate pro Democrat voter sentiment.
