I like the biblical version better from the POV of fine literature
almost anything would be better than the biblical version - and surly you must know it.

don't mention it----lets keep this little foible as quiet as possibleBut is agreement all the same. Thanks!
Why? Or how does religion promote survival of the species?
I find the biblical version to be SUBLIME based on my exquisite sensibilityalmost anything would be better than the biblical version - and surly you must know it.

Natural selection - which is Darwinian - has two components; functional advantage and transfer of functional advantage to the next generation.huh?
No, it's not a lie. You're trying to argue a dominant feature is vestigial is idiotic. Say it with me. Religion still exists in overwhelming numbers because religion offers a functional advantage that non-religion can't offer. That are you can just deny Darwinian principles and claim shit happens for no good reasons. No, that's a lie. Darwin was fully aware that vestigial traits unnecessary to contemporary survival exist in species.
Can you repeat that in English?metaphysical physiology ... itself will perish - without its inseparable spiritual content to guide its daily existance.
No. And I'm not sure how you made that leap in logic either. Try to stay with me here... belief in a higher power offers functional advantages that no belief in a higher power can offer.are you claiming all living beings are desert adherents - like you.
Then fig leaves it is.I am not INTO leather
We may be ignorant and superstitious, but we are happier, healthier, and live longer. No, their timeline based on all the evidence and theory is correct. The ancient mythology written by ignorant, superstitious people is wrong. Obviously.
Job 38Where's that in the Bible?
The myths from Sumer and Babylon about Dilmun are much older.
Job 38
4 Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.
5 Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?
6 Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;
7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
What's the problem Even well-meaning Christians ignore or don't fully understand the events that took place in the garden.almost anything would be better than the biblical version - and surly you must know it.
Interesting but what is relevancy to his statements regarding the creation of the earth?Woodznutz

Job (biblical figure) - Wikipedia
en.m.wikipedia.org
The Septuagint, an ancient Greek translation of the Hebrew Old Testament, has a revised and updated final verse that claims Job's genealogy, asserting him to be a grandson of Esau and a ruler of Edom.
This man is described in the Syriac book as living in the land of Ausis, on the borders of Idumea and Arabia: and his name before was Jobab; and having taken an Arabian wife, he begot a son whose name was Ennon. And he himself was the son of his father Zare, one of the sons of Esau, and of his mother Bosorrha, so that he was the fifth from Abraam.
And these were the kings who reigned in Edom, which country he also ruled over: first, Balac, the son of Beor, and the name of his city was Dennaba: but after Balac, Jobab, who is called Job, and after him Asom, who was governor out of the country of Thaeman: and after him Adad, the son of Barad, who destroyed Madiam in the plain of Moab; and the name of his city was Gethaim.
And his friends who came to him were Eliphaz, of the children of Esau, king of the Thaemanites, Baldad sovereign of the Sauchaeans, Sophar king of the Minaeans.[4]
I guess Job is buried in Oman. ..and grandmother Eve is buried in Jeddah.
100%We may be ignorant and superstitious, but we are happier, healthier, and live longer.Isn't that what it's all about?
Again... so what. What have I told you about that in the past?Where's that in the Bible?
The myths from Sumer and Babylon about Dilmun are much older.
Nope. You err in your interpretation of Scripture, obviouslyNo, their timeline based on all the evidence and theory is correct. The ancient mythology written by ignorant, superstitious people is wrong. Obviously.
Of course it does. We live in a logical universe for crying out loud. Stuff happens for reasons. It would be idiotic to believe behaviors and actions didn't have consequences; both good and bad. So it's logical for successful behaviors to naturally lead to success and failed behaviors to naturally lead to failure. It's kind of a running theme throughout the Jewish ancient texts. I'm surprised more people haven't figured that out.ok----I disagree with them----Darwin was right---religion does promote
survival of the species
