No, their timeline based on all the evidence and theory is correct. The ancient mythology written by ignorant, superstitious people is wrong. Obviously.Perhaps, but they get the timeline wrong. Perhaps to support the ToE.
Close. The original earth (Genesis 1:1) was made for the pleasure of the angels. But they screwed up and God trashed it.
myths are like dreams-----and even psychotic ideation----the same imageryWhere's that in the Bible?
The myths from Sumer and Babylon about Dilmun are much older.

non sequiturBecause we are all the same species and have similar brains.
And we were all abjectly ignorant and superstitious, when these myths were created.
So you believe that religion has survived in overwhelming numbers in every society throughout the history of mankind because men are abjectly ignorant and superstitious?Because we are all the same species and have similar brains.
And we were all abjectly ignorant and superstitious, when these myths were created.
Uh, that's not a non sequitur. Sorry.non sequitur
Correct! We are absolutely hardwired to believe utter nonsense. And to ascrbe agency where none exists. So religion has survived in overwhelming numbers in every society throughout the history of mankind because men are abjectly ignorant and superstitious?
the brain seeks a LOGICAL EXPLANATION---even psychotics elaborate aSo you believe that religion has survived in overwhelming numbers in every society throughout the history of mankind because men are abjectly ignorant and superstitious?
That doesn't seem very Darwinian to me. How would Darwin explain the continued existence of religion in overwhelming numbers in every society throughout the history of mankind?

we are hardwired to seek and even invent agencyCorrect! We are absolutely hardwired to believe utter nonsense. And to ascrbe agency where none exists.
And according to Darwin what would be the reason for this hardwiring?Correct! We are absolutely hardwired to believe utter nonsense. And to ascrbe agency where none exists.
Exactly. Once we established a sense of self and other, we started attributing agency.we are hardwired to seek and even invent agency
there are similarities ----not "copied"----in fact "justice" is hardwired in allLike the Code of Hammurabi or the Egyptian Book of the Dead? How about the Canaanite myths from the Ugarit.
If you have a point to make, go ahead. Your assistant has not yet clocked in.And according to Darwin what would be the reason for this hardwiring?
The older myth from Sumer is that the garden was a playground for the gods and they were attended by the humans until the humans got too numerous and too noisy.
According to Darwin the brain hardwiring exists because itIf you have a point to make, go ahead. Your assistant has not yet clocked in.
Or it could be that belief in a higher power serves a purpose and this purpose is a functional advantage. Otherwise, it would have died out ling ago according to Darwin. But the real question is why does belief in a higher power create a functional advantage. If you listen to some they would argue there is no functional advantage and that the only reason religion has existed in overwhelming numbers in every society throughout the history of mankind is because man is dumb and superstitious. Which seems to me to be an explanation for the dumb seeking to confirm their bias.the brain seeks a LOGICAL EXPLANATION---even psychotics elaborate a
REASON for the hallucination or delusion. Chance or chaos is not logical
