Russian military equipment is crap. I've seen some recent footege where some of them are still wearing WW2-era helmets. Hell, they even went into Ukraine using easily-available Chinese-made Baofeng handheld radios you can buy on Ebay for $20 - $50. I'm looking at one sitting on my workbench right now.

They have no encryption and the Ukrainians are fouling up the Russian's communications with each other. I have mine programmed to all of the police, fire, and EMS channels in mine and the surrounding counties. They're ok, you just have to stay of the Push to Transmit key to stay out of trouble.
