While all this tough talk against Russia, Biden has actually allowed the free financial flow of Russia's oil where the REAL money is, to:

1. Stop short of REALLY hurting Putin to where a serious conflagration really begins!
2. Avoid putting too serious a dent in the global oil reserve that would badly impact Europe.
3. Most importantly, to avoid a further hike on the cost of fuels like gas and diesel as we head into the midterms where the democrats already look to be hurting bad enough.

US is a member of NATO...and as such has obligations under that Alliance.
Security for members of NATO is guaranteed.
Security for non-members of NATO is not guaranteed.
Sweden and Finland have been threatened by Russia that if they join NATO they will be sorry.
Finland borders Russia, Sweden does not. Norway is a member of NATO.
Now, the majority of people in Finland want Finland to join NATO.
Russia has threatened NATO member France, veiled threat that it could be next if it doesn't shut up about economic war on Russia.
WW3 looms large.

The Cold War 2.0 is already starting. If it goes full fledged WW 3. That is the question.

I think it likely. And every day we resist getting involved the costs goes up. The cost in money. The cost in lives. The cost in American Servicemen.

It has already gone too far. It has gone past the point where Putin can withdraw to Status Quo Ante. Too much destruction. Too many Ukrainians dead. Too many Russians dead. Putin can’t stop.

And he can’t stop at Ukraine. Cold War 2.0 will destroy the Russian economy. Social interest will topple him if nothing else happens. He has to take more. Get more. Turning back now means he personally pays for this. With his life. I don’t believe he cares how many die to save his own skin.

Inflation is already running amok in Russia. And it is only going to get worse.

So the question is which hell do we prefer? A smaller war now? Or a larger war later.

The West ignored the rise of Russia and China, and was busy with climate change folly instead of arming itself for absolute protection of every country in it.
Washington has made Allances...NATO, ANZUS, AUKUS etc.
If Washington is no longer committed to these Alliances and wants out, it should just say so...American people want to stay out of more wars, no American lives at risk...understandable and fair enough.
Say so, declare that it's "every country for itself" and let the cards fall where they may.
The countries with nukes will have an advantage, those with no nukes will quickly be taken over and enslaved by the China-Russia communist monster military, the largest ever seen on earth.
China-Russia would then rule the world, own everything in the world one way or another.
America would then be their servant.
What US economy? There'd be no such thing.
What there would be...Americans eating grass to survive, as in North Korea.

America must first authorize the production of fully automatic assault rifles, and make sure that every American is armed with them. Then we need to arm third world countries with these assault rifles. We do not need to defund the police. We need to increase police pay. This will attract a better stock of police.
