He can't be successful because he thinks like a poor person. He is for immediate gratification.

Two groups of children. Promise each one a lollipop every day. They can take their lollipop every day but if they wait until Friday instead of 7 lollipops they will get 14. Which child has delayed gratification? On Friday tell the children that got 14 lollipops that if they give all their lollipops back, next Friday they will get back their 14 lollipops plus 28 more lollipops, a doubling of their lollipop investment. The children that agree will be rich.
