Virginia judge stays certification of redistricting vote

December 2025 SCOTUS decision on the Texas redistricting.

Redistricting for political power is A-Okay.

Link to decision in a previous post in this thread.

Its OK with me Democrats are getting a dose of their own medicine

We'll see won't we. The activist Judges decision to halt certification has already been appealed so we are waiting on an Appeals court ruling on the motion to stay.

WW
It was struck down on legal grounds and wont survive the SC

My scenerio, which you mischaracterize, it votes AFTER an event can be used to hold politicians responsible for their actions.
??? What did I mischaracterize? You admit the Const. requires the intervening election so voters can hold their politicians accountable. They held their vote after more than a million Virginians voted and they can't hold their politicians accountable.

But let's be honest here, Virginia put the vote to the voters which means all voter age Virginians got to weigh in on the question to amend the Constitution for the temporary redistricting provision.

There were 3,072,235 votes cast in the recent Special Election, let me check. Yep, that is 3,072,235 more votes than Texas received by it's people on their redistricting effort which if memory serves me was 0, Zippo, Nadda votes by the people. The Governor and Legislature just followed Trumps orders.

WW
So screw the COnstitution? You got the outcome you wanted?

#2 No Virginia voters are being disenfranchised, all Virginian can still vote.
Wow. So all the Civil Rights redistricting cases brought by your cult are bullshit? All blacks can still vote?

No voters were disenfranchised in Virginia or Texas.
They are still represented by the elected Representatives, just because they lost doesn't change that.
No Virginians were robbed of representation in Congress just like no voters were robbed of representation in Texas.
No you are not, you still get to vote.
So your "fairness" argument is 1,000% bullshit

Actually no it's not. In Virgina, the voters decided to balance Texas's action. In Texas, Trump told them to redistrict to protect power in the mid-terms and the legislature complied WITHOUT going to the people.

But Monday the Virginia Supreme Court is schedule for oral arguments pertaining to the peoples vote on redistructing. While we won't have a decision that day, we will have a better read based on the arguments and the questions.

Patience grasshopper. The prediction is that this will easily be dispatched like all the other attempts this partisan hack has tried. The timing is any day now.
Huge goalpost move from “overturned by tomorrow”. Now the worn out “any day now”
You all actually lie to yourself

Actually no it's not.
You're arguing that everyone still gets to vote so that's fair. Under your test for fairness, it was fair before because every one got the opportunity to vote. So it's not fairness that drove Democrats.

That's where you lose us. You are disenfranchising the voices of your fellow citizens in VA because of something that happened in Texas

I never claimed that DEMs were disenfranchised prior to Virginia's redistricting.

And yes, it was fairness that drive the redistricting to counter the power grab by Texas at the orders of Trump.

No voters are disenfranchised in Virginia or Texas.

Not having your candidate win based on an election is not "disenfranchisement". It's losing.

Texas's executed it's power grab and it was challenged all the way up to the SCOTUS. The SCOTUS said - and I paraphrase - that redistricting for political power was hunky-dory.

There is an old saying: "Watch what you ask for, you might get it, but not like the results."

Sorry WW, "disenfranchising" is the argument your cult has been using for decades. Moving blacks into majority white districts "disenfranchises" them.

What SC decision is informing your opinion?

Fairness to who? How does the new map make anything fair for Virginians?

15th post
Huh? A court already ruled the Dems act was illegal

If that was appealed and rejected that’s not good for you
Reading comprehension is a skill. Try again.

How could the apeal already be rejected by the VA Supreme Court, oral arguments aren’t even scheduled until tomorrow at 0900.
