Virginia judge stays certification of redistricting vote

Libs feel they can vote about something anytime they feel like it
Just make it up and vote for it to be so
The really troubling part was how they mislead voters with the confusing ballot

You mean the part where they said "A YES vote is a vote for Truth Justice and The American way?"

The problem with the Dems illegal power grab is they attempted to do this in a special session, not a regular session....the special session was limited to business about revenue and the budget....hence it was illegal from the start.

Which is binding law on VA Constitutional changes?

The VA Constitution or subordinate law?

"Any amendment or amendments to this Constitution may be proposed in the Senate or House of Delegates, and if the same shall be agreed to by a majority of the members elected to each of the two houses, such proposed amendment or amendments shall be entered on their journals, the name of each member and how he voted to be recorded, and referred to the General Assembly at its first regular session held after the next general election of members of the House of Delegates."

No mention of General vs. Special for first passage.

Ballot Text: "Should the Constitution of Virginia be amended to allow the General Assembly to temporarily adopt new congressional districts to restore fairness in the upcoming elections, while ensuring Virginia's standard redistricting process resumes for all future redistricting after the 2030 census? "

You quote is not there.

(I get you made it up to try to make a point.)

The special session was created for a purpose, the exceeded the scope of that special session with the amendment

Making it void and illegal from the state

That "after" refers to the referral to the General Assembly.

Let's try this a different way. You tell me, what is the purpose of having an intervening election and why do each member name and how they voted have to be recorded?
WorldWatcher well?

How does their proposed map restore fairness in the up coming election?

Goalpost time line moving
Lib 101

I never set any timeline.

The only timeline is to put a stake in the ground for August 4th which is the date of the primaries. From that backup requirements for finalizing ballots, issuing mail-in packages, opening early voting, etc. to arrive at when a VA Supreme Court decision must be issued.

So currently we have an order issued by a County Judge, the State has requested a stay pending appeal to the VA Appeals Court. There will have to be a reply to the motion from the RNC, then the VA Appeals court will issue their decision on whether to allow certification to proceed pending a full review on the merits. Regardless of which side wins, it will be appealed to the VA Supreme Court - meaning more briefings and oral argument scheduling.

I never said their would be a shoot down of the activist Judges decision in days.

WTF is that supposed to mean?

I never claimed that the activist judges order would be overturned in a day or two. The justice system doesn't work that fast.

500th and last time. None of the Judge's orders were set aside. They were stayed pending appeal.
Lol. Six versus a half dozen.
Ask you cult's lawyers that have filed 50 redistricting lawsuits in Federal Court alleging violation of Federal law. Educate yourself and get back to us. We're tired of your rank ignorance.
I don’t know what is so hard for you to understand. The fact is the Democrats of claimed that gerrymandering is a violation of the 14th amendment. Supreme Court said nope. For Virginia, there is no claim that gerrymandering violates the 14th amendment. Therefore there is nothing for the Supreme Court to rule on.
