My first trip out for weeks and weeks. I went to the hospital to see my specialist. The roads were a lot quieter than usual but the hospital car parks were full.
The hospital itself was very quiet and everyone was wearing a mask. All the waiting rooms had been stretched into the corridors to comply with social distancing. All elective surgery and many clinics have been shunted off to other sites and it felt reassuringly organised.
It amazes me how resilient our health service is in the face of the twin threat of covid virus and the conservative government.
I was telling the staff that their comrades in the US were being laid off by profit crazed corporations. They found it difficult to imagine such a place. Its a mad, mad world.
