USMB Coffee Shop IV

.

Haven't experienced this so far. I have a condition that severely depletes my sodium, and doctor thinks it might be doing the same with my magnesium levels.

.
Sorry you're having that problem. But on the bright side, you probably don't have to live with a salt restricted diet.

Well I don't drink coffee but I do like good conversation.
Well hello flack and welcome to the Coffee Shop. I'm happy you found us finally. :) Bew sure to read over the OP to see what we're all about in here and then keep right on joining in.

For your first timers complimentary beverage, how about a beautiful Irish coffee?

AI is going to change the world. For better or worse we will find out I guess.
So they seem to be telling us.

I'm still a bit of a skeptic though when it comes to AI. When you're looking for information on something, Google gives you the AI response first. Sometimes that's almost all that you can get. But it worries me that varying the question just a bit will trigger a totally opposite or very different AI response than what you got before. For that reason I can't really trust it.

But I do know that I love good music with strong lyrics, a memorable and hummable melody--music that gets stuck in your head. And I appreciate wonderful art creations by gifted people. And I appreciate great acting, believable sympathetic characters, interesting story lines, creative directing in movies.

I am not looking forward to a world in which the art, music, actors etc. are all created by AI.

It is not a toy. It is a very dangerous tool that will enslave mankind. The Chatbots are just a way to entice us in. It will happen fast. People will not react fast enough. The Dominoes store over by the college uses a robot drone to deliver pizzas on campus.

Well we aren't into the 'enslavement' arguments here in the Coffee Shop. Best debated elsewhere. General observations/comments okay so long as we keep the sociopolitics out of it.

One other thing about AI that I'm not really on board with are those 'drones' you mentioned though. I don't want driverless cars, trains, busses. Once they take the human element out of everything, I think the world will be poorer for it.

I wasn't a great money manager and I'm currently getting chewed on it by my military oriented father. I don't even get to grieve.

We're in debt and we want to keep the house. We're unaware if the mortgage has a payoff clause if the guarantee passes away.

We don't want any liens put on it, but we don't have enough money to pay off all the debt. She wanted us to keep the house in the family.

She didn't leave a will, either. We pushed her to but she never did. She hated people butting into her affairs and that had all to do with her controlling ex husband. Might have been more receptive had he not been.

On top of everything else my dad had seized control of everything at the moment. The primary need is money...

I'm sorry to air this out on you, but I'm lost and in pain.

Been awhile since I have dropped in. Good to see folks. I'll try to stop by more often.
Mostly I sleep. Saturday was my 73rd birthday. I feel 105 and hope I'm not here on my 75th BD. Who wants to live forever? Golden years my ass. Whomever came up with that shit is full of..well...shit.

Love the music vids. Got sidetracked for a few weeks watching YOUTUBE "first time hearing" (insert song here) by young black folks that wind up jammin' along with songs most of us rocked out to. It's nice to see the very positive reactions and surprises. When not doing that, I am snoozing. Sleep is where I find my escape.

Sorry to hear of woes. I can relate. Sorry Temp about your grandma. That sucks.

Everyone else....its good to see you.

Hugs

What do I do? I want to save the house so me and dad can live in it together, like she hoped...
