USMB Coffee Shop IV

True. Most of us wait for them to quit before replacing them. But as you observed, that might not be the wisest policy.

We don't use the toaster a lot as we like to toast the bread in the toaster oven so that it can toast the butter into the bread as it toasts. So the toaster is still like new. The toaster oven and microwave both get frequent workouts though and we should probably look into replacing both.
My new one is an Insignia (Best Buy brand) 1000 watt, 1.1 cubic ft. Same as the old one but smaller overall. Got it on sale for around $89 but I just checked and it's up to $100. The only downside I found is the controls are unreadable in low light so if I'm using it at night I simply turn the kitchen light on.

You men who don't turn on lights to see what you're doing. LOL. Hombre is the world's worst about that.

We usually get our small appliances from Walmart or often Home Depot that often has better selections and prices than Walmart does. For instance, Home Depot currently has a 1.1 cu ft 1000 watt microwave for about $69.

I never think to check Home Depot or Lowes.

Well little brothers can be rather offputting when it comes to romancing the gals. LOL

But always a joy when you check in Lumpy, my friend. I doubt you're any more boring than the rest of us though. :)
Yes .. I was rather good at being, "off putting" come to think of it.. 😄

.. and thank you Sweetie .. hugs and smiles!

I figured out what the problem was .. starting out posting in a good mood with politics ..

.. my first stop should always be the Coffee Shop and the sweet hearted sane members .. 😉

I was 6-1/2 years younger than my older and only sibling (RIP) and she was often stuck baby sitting me. When I think what I brat I was when she first started dating, I'm amazed she ever got a second date with anybody. :)

I was the spoiled youngest child and my brother was the oldest by 7+ years with 2 sisters in between. I would count myself fortunate when it comes to family.

My eldest sister was just visiting from Phoenix until just this morning ... she's on a road trip with her hubby, next stop Bosie, Idaho..

Not long ago I purchased a Sony WH-CH720N headphone shipped just under $100. While it has awesome sound quality I quickly discovered it doesn't play well with Macs, constantly dropping out. It's going back and I replaced it with an on sale $40 Sony WH-CH520 made specifically for Apple Macs. Same sound quality but without the noise cancelling feature which I don't mind as I'm using it indoors. I may buy another for my Macbook Air, I find the Apple Earbuds to get uncomfortable quickly. Also unlike the expensive one it doesn't squeeze my head.
Now I have a few older wired Sony headphones to get rid of.
Plus I reset my 2017 i7 Mac Mini and will be unloading it also most likely with a MacNally wireless keyboard and older wireless mouse. I have no need for them as I have a too many computers, mice and keyboards as it is.........

You can probably sell them quickly on Ebay. We have a couple of cheap keyboards and mouses that came with computers but have never been used. I figure they wouldn't bring much selling them so we keep them in reserve just in case we might need them.

(But then we're chronic packrats. You probably aren't. :) )

We use backlit Letton keyboards because they last a long time and the backlighting means I don't wear the letters off the keys that happens very quickly with a regular keyboard. We had fancy lighted mouses too. Hombre still uses his but I wore mine out. Replaced it with a simple but serviceable Logitech mouse that actually fits my hand better. Not doing serious gaming on our computers we only need left and right buttons and a cursor for my mouse.

Hombre uses some good earbuds with his computer. I just use the speakers on mine.

My worst electronica problem is that microsoft stops supporting Windows 10 later this year and my refurbished HP that is lightning fast--best computer I've ever had--cannot be upgraded to Windows 11 because it doesn't have some kind of chip in the mother board. Affording a good new computer with Win 11 is not only expensive but extremely annoying.

15th post
Started out on a high note. Was the MC for 3 Memorial Day ceremonies, all of them went well. Left on my annual Vacation drive. Custers Last Stand was interesting but I didn't stay as long as I should have. drove over to Old Faithfull. thousands of people there. Had to park a good 500 yards from the geyser. Had a Buffalo walk within 10 ft of the car. Then stopped at the Grand Canyon for a short visit. Made it home home in time to take my brother for an out patient procedure which went well.

Then the bad news hit. Yesterday morning I got an internet call from my eldest son in Germany. His 49 year old brother passed away. His health had been going down hill and no one knew other than his wife and son, But there are questions enough that the authorities have ordered an autopsy. I'm a wreck.
