"Russian" toll in Syria battle was 300 killed and wounded
A Russian military doctor said around 100 had been killed, and a source who knows several of the fighters said the death toll was in excess of 80 men.

The timing of the casualties coincided with a battle on Feb. 7 near the Syrian city of Deir al-Zor where, according to U.S. officials and associates of the fighters involved, U.S.-led coalition forces attacked forces aligned with Moscow’s ally, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Russian officials said five citizens may have been killed but they had no relation to Russia’s armed forces.

The clashes show Moscow is more deeply involved in Syria militarily than it has said, and risks being drawn into direct confrontation with the United States in Syria."

Let's see an A-10 do that kind of damage that fast. And pick up on the fleeing stragglers to boot. The AC-130 is king. There is no place to hide. The A-10 doesn't carry enough to do that kind of damage that fast. The AC is using either 25 or 30mm gatling canons with enough ammo to do this attack and a few more without having to either refuel or rearm. The bad guys forgot to bring their SAs with them and the AC operates completely uncontested. And you can bet there were a few F-22s hanging around in case there is an Air to Air asset in the area. You will notice that not one single black hat fighter decided to try and stop this. Suicide IS painful.

Nice joke. I hope you aren't being serious. The Russians are the only ones that might go toe to toe with the US. Fighting a bunch of 12th century desert fighters is one thing but fighting a well trained and equipped military is another.

ps

what do you think what Girkin´s pal wrote about this event on his page in LJ?

"The comrade-in-arms of the former "Defense Minister of the DNR" Igor Strelkov (Girkin) Mikhail Polynkov told new details about the defeat of Russian mercenaries in Syria.

This he wrote on his page in LJ.

"Three assault squads took part in the operation. "Spring" - the former "Carpathians", which consisted of residents of Donbass and Russians who took part in the fighting in the Donbass. 2nd unit and 5th. Not authorized companies of 121 people, but of assault detachments. The staff of each of them is 350 people.

Each of their detachments had its own technique, such as zurich on urals and brdm. Also in the operation was a bronze group with T-72 tanks and artillery from M-30. They promised to cover the air defense, but it was not there. There were practically no people in the column. Object directly stormed the "Spring". The 2nd and 5th detachments stood in the column on the way, waiting for the team. Almost immediately after the beginning of the assault, artillery bombardment began. Communication for a long time was not.

The source says that the mortars of the 120th but may be wrong. Then there was a missile-bomb strike. The accuracy of the hit is prohibitive. In front of the source, the missile hit the BRDM. About four o'clock in the morning the remnants of the column ironed the turntables. At the output, the remnants of the units were again stabbed with a missile and bomb attack. Back to the crossing from the entire armored group got only one tank. Artdivision all remained there. At one calculation there was a hit directly in.

The source says that more than two hundred people died from his detachment. And this is in view of the fact that his squad did not take part in the assault. On this basis, I easily believe in the figure of 600 dead. There were many sides with the wounded. They carried not only Moscow and the Moscow Region, but also Peter and Rostov. We must pay tribute. Evacuation was operational (in which were in that and brought) and treatment at a high level.

In occasion of a photo and video. To all who signed the contract a strict ban on shooting. In smartphones install a special program that blocks the recorder and camera.

I'll add my opinion. Kurds do not like to publish reports about their destroyed opponents. The Americans knew exactly who they were working on and, of course, they had a shot. I think that the publication of the complete rout of the summary detachments of Russian contract soldiers and the number of victims is not in their favor either. This could rally around Putin all the patriots, even those who are in opposition to him. And the US does not want to be in the image of a bloodthirsty enemy of Russia, as it was in the USSR. But our authorities also do not really want the truth about what happened to leak out.

The abundance of clumsy fakes, which easily expose the regular pope ****** s - an excellent and already proven method for sapping the truth and discrediting any information about the event. The main task of the ********, as I think, is not even to hide the number of deaths, but a more global goal is to introduce to the average person in the brain the idea that "Wagner's PMC" did not exist at all and if there were Russians there, only in the composition of VSK and MTR. Which, by the way, certainly knew that the object will be defended not only by the Kurds, but also by the Americans.

Personally, I have a feeling that the guys stupidly drove to the slaughter. The only question is who needs it. Probably, at the moment at the very top, in the Kremlin towers, there is a real Maydan, which naive people wait in the streets of capitals, "- summarizes Polynkov."

Unprovoked attack by Syrian pro-regime forces prompts Coalition defensive strikes > U.S. Central Command > Press Release View

SOUTHWEST ASIA – Syrian pro-regime forces initiated an unprovoked attack against well-established Syrian Democratic Forces headquarters Feb. 7.

Coalition service members in an advise, assist, and accompany capacity were co-located with SDF partners during the attack eight kilometers east of the agreed-upon Euphrates River de-confliction line.

In defense of Coalition and partner forces, the Coalition conducted strikes against attacking forces to repel the act of aggression against partners engaged in the Global Coalition's defeat-Daesh mission.

The Coalition remains committed to focusing on the defeat-Daesh mission in the Middle Euphrates River Valley and asserts its non-negotiable right to act in self-defense.

The Russians wanted to test how effective they'd be against a real fight with the American military, and they lost in every way possible. Learn the lesson.

The Russian guns for hire dying in Syria

"
The deaths of Russian fighters in Syria on 7 February exposed the operations of a shadowy group of mercenaries there. Some reports speak of more than 100 Russians killed in one battle; officially it is "several dozen" Russians killed or wounded.

The BBC Russian Service has investigated how and where Russian guns for hire have been killed in Syria.

Last September, Nina Atyusheva, a pensioner in the small town of Severoonezhsk, received a phone call telling her that her son Yevgeny Alikov had died in Syria.

A week later a man arrived with a coffin and 5m roubles (£63,050; $90,000) in insurance money. He had driven 2,100km (1,305 miles) to Russia's far north to return Nina's "little boy".

The man placed the money on the kitchen table in stacks of 5,000-rouble notes.

The BBC attempted to contact the man, but whoever answered the phone claimed to be someone else and said he knew nothing about Russian volunteers in Syria."
