US Energy Production Hits All-Time High

No stupid! They already know there's oil on that land. God you're dumb.
And you know this, how exactly? Link to it so I can evaluate it, please.
We've "GIVEN" the oil companies enough land. They're sitting on thousands of acres. Drill those sites first and MAYBE we will give you more later.
Only if it makes sense to drill there.
And are they passing on any of that money on to American consumers or just selling it for the max on the open market? I think you know the answer to that.
Oil is a global commodity. It has a global price.
Remember Iraqi's used to pay 30 cents a gallon? If we are energy independent, how come we aren't paying $1 a gallon now?
Because, as I said before, oil is a global commodity with a global price. Us producing more than we use just means no one else can hold the threat of cutting it off over our heads like OPEC did in the 70's.
As of May 2024, gas prices in Iraq are:
  • Premium petrol (95 octane): 850 Iraqi dinars ($0.65) per liter
That's about $2.60/gallon.
  • Super petrol (98 octane): 1,250 Iraqi dinars per liter
  • Regular petrol (low octane): 450 Iraqi dinars per liter

34 cents a gallon they pay? If we are energy independent why don't we pay less now?
Because we haven't nationalized the oil industry. Like I said, energy independence just means no one can force us to do anything by threatening to cut off the oil.

Hey finally a good reply

who said we were? Who thinks we are paying less than 4 or 5 years ago?

There is no 4 or 5 year period in my 60 year lifetime that prices were cheaper at the end of that the beginning of
Many types of tech get cheaper as they mature and become better implemented. Inflation is generally one way...but sometimes things also fluctuate and drop for awhile. But anyway... come on! I'm not sure why you think that your sole perception negates the fact that so many people are blind to the true state of the economy. All kinds of Biden/Harris supporters and clueless leftist supporters of the New World Order...seemingly common people who are not affluent at all...absolutely ARE arguing that inflation isn't happening and the economy is doing great. The economy is not doing great when people can barely afford to do more than just pay their every day bills. An economy is doing great when it has a modest surplus and ordinary people can afford to save for homes and other investments. People are having a hard time doing that unless they are way up on the pyramid. I work in one of the top 10 most affluent neighborhoods in my state. After the pandemic even THOSE people started complaining about the prices!

Sure, individual items come down in price, but not prices over all. My first PC cost me 2 grand and it could not do 1/10 of what my phone does today.

All I have seen them argue is that it is not the end of world like so many on the other side are claiming.

And while I know it is a big "only", but truly the only bad part of the economy is inflation. Every other metric is as good or better than in the Trump years.

The economy is not doing great when people can barely afford to do more than just pay their every day bills.

There are always people like this, no matter how good the economy is.

In 2019 78% of people reported living paycheck to paycheck.

So now you're basically just confirming what I originally said before you asked "who said we were". You acknowledge that there is a whole "other side" of people saying this. The point is that inflation has recently seen a huge spike since the pandemic. It's not just this steady trickle that we've all come to expect and have lived with for decades. There has been a quantum leap since the pandemic and especially under Biden/Harris ALL of my utility bills went way up, not just a little. I'm talking like 30% in some cases. Many food items I've bought for years are now suddenly similar percentages higher. After Biden was elected I also had many friends and coworkers talking about massive unprecedented hikes in their insurance that they hadn't seen in many years. I 'm no spring chicken. I've been working since 1987 and the recent extreme increases in things is not my imagination. Pretty much seems like this administration has given the go ahead to corporations to screw us as much as they want.

Oil drilled on american soil isn't the property of the oil companies. Why are we allowing them to ship it away if we need it?

You want to stay with fossil fuels and not find a better way? Hollie, you're a bird brain just like Nikki
What you're suggesting is the Ludicrous, leftist idea that we can ban fossil fuels with no realistic alternative in place. Go play with your bird.

No one is banning fossil fuels. We are encouraging alternative energy. Fossil fuel is bad. It's what we have now but we can do better. Shut up bird brain. How old are you? Do you realize your only job at your age is grandmothering? Either you are a grandmother or cat lady. Never a CEO.

That's right. In federal buildings. Not in the private sector. Get a life.

You also can't be a racist company and do business with the federal government. You must have a certain percentage of minorities and cat ladies working for you.

That's wrong. As usual, you just babble without any regard for accuracy or integrity.

It took action by the House to confront Biden-Harris on their attempted ban of gas stoves.

You closet cat ladies are a laughable joke.

Well you said Biden is banning fossil fuels and your own article tells me this happened on Bush's watch

The Clean Energy for New Federal Buildings and Major Renovations of Federal Buildings Rule, mandated by the Energy Independence and Security Act (EISA) of 2007, mandates a phased reduction in fossil fuel usage in these buildings. The law requires federal buildings and major renovations to phase out fossil fuel-generated energy consumption by 2030. This provision had been pending due to regulatory delays until now.

And God Bless him. You act like this is a bad thing. Am I missing something? Were you born a coal miners daughter or something Loretta?

You must think government runs Exxon Mobile, Shell, Valero, Citgo and Chevron.

Look at what horrible people Democrats are

With commercial and residential buildings contributing 13% of direct greenhouse gas emissions in 2022, primarily from burning natural gas, the focus has shifted towards electrification. This entails transitioning from gas to cleaner electricity sources like wind and solar power.

God FORBID!!!!

Advocated by the American Institute of Architects (AIA), this provision sought to leverage government leadership to drive technological advancements and cost reductions in climate-friendly measures.

Taylor Jo Isenberg, director of Economic Security Project Action, an organization that advocates for government intervention against monopolies, praised the Biden administration

The Biden administration this week also touted a significant cost-saving achievement: lower prices for prescription drugs under Medicare, thanks to long-sought legislation Biden signed into law two years ago allowing the retirement health care program to negotiate deals with drug companies. The cost savings could amount to more than $1 billion for seniors in 2026.
Top Republicans such as House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) called the proposal “price fixing” and claimed it would hurt the pharmaceutical industry.
