Oil Blows Past $100 Per Barrel - Experts Warning $200 Possible

Diesel prices in 4 locations in my town today:

$5.05
$5.09
$5.13
$5.14

Average price for regular gas in my town:

$3.79 (lowest being $3.69 highest being $3.89)

I'm fortunate that I live next door to where I work. I only fill up about 4 times a year. I feel sorry for the person who lost their good job to A.I. and now has to commute to a minimum wage job across town or in another town.

Eeny meeny miny moe: Food or fuel this month?

My title may be an exaggeration... This CEO is only predicting $175 per barrel oil.. not $200.

Southern Utah:

Diesel is at $5.19 at almost every location in town.

Regular gas is at $3.89 at almost every location in town.

Premium gas is averaging at $4.39.

I am indeed old.
I do believe the imperfect Republicans far outweigh the Democrats, which you ought to agree with since you claim to dislike Democrats.
No, I blame something entirely different than any politician.
You have this "Crazy idea" that Trump issued this magic EO to tell oil refineries, "boys jack up gasoline prices" so they did.

My mention of taxes was to let posters look at taxes per state and they will see what I meant. That prices vary a hell of a lot and part of that is state taxes since Federal taxes is the same all over the country.

Do you prefer to die early?
You have ingested far too much Orange Kool-Aid.

If you are enthralled by the scientifically-ignorant who lie about immigrants eating pets, post racist memes, and insult America's allies, he's your man.

Most demur.

There is an irony in his hapless "little excursion" reminding the world of one of the costs of dependence upon his beloved dirty fuels.

Progress continues, nonetheless (as China's global influence through it's dominance of the growing clean energy technology market benefits by his surrender.)

An offshore wind project targeted by the Trump administration has begun sending power to New England’s electric grid, the developer said Friday.
The Danish company Orsted said Revolution Wind is now generating power and will scale up in the weeks ahead until it is fully operational. Orsted is building Revolution Wind with Global Infrastructure Partners’ Skyborn Renewables to provide electricity for Rhode Island and Connecticut, enough to power more than 350,000 homes and businesses.
Revolution Wind was one of five major East Coast offshore wind projects the Trump administration halted construction on days before Christmas, citing national security concerns. Developers and states sued, and federal judges allowed all five to resume construction, essentially concluding that the government did not show that the national security risk was so imminent that construction must halt.
... Trump, who often talks about his hatred of wind power, has said his goal is to not let any “windmills” be built. He has signed a spate of executive orders aimed at boosting oil, gas and coal.

You sell fear. Over nothing. When you are against nuclear, & hydropower, stop talking to me about energy.

Explain what happens when in the area of your windmills, the wind is not there or so low velocity it can't spin the windmills? What are the people supposed to do then?

Your ignorance concerning clean energy technology and why so many advanced nations are embracing it comports with the dogma of your messiah.

Wind energy can be stored using batteries, pumped hydro, compressed air, thermal systems, hydrogen, flywheels, and hybrid approaches to ensure reliable power and grid stability.

67% of Denmark's electricity was generated by solar and wind in 2025.

Your ignorance is that windmills solve everything. Well now you add batteries, but what current is used in the USA? DC is far less used than AC so batteries can't store AC current.

Show us exactly where anyone has said "windmills solve everything."

Time to start putting up “I did that” Trump stickers on gas pumps.

When one state produces 28 percent, you know it is a small amount nationally.
You ducked the problems wind has. Do you approve many more Nuclear plants producing very long term stable energy?
That's 28% less oil and gas they need to buy.
