Universal Healthcare question for everyone

The OP is nothing more than a shill piece for corporate health care. After Thompson got greased the insurance companies are cranking out the talking points.

In the 1970s healthcare in America was by a private doctor in a private practice, and you paid out of pocket. That motivated you to live a healthy lifestyle, and kept government out of it.

And a funny thing happened. Those doctors realized they couldn't afford malpractice insurance and six employees to handle insurance claims on their own, so they all joined medical groups.

sorry, man, I got him on a tear about UH on another thread, and he was horrified that poor people could get the same level of treatment he gets.

Maybe Zoggy got 30 pieces of silver to post this crap

Yep. It’s called “fair share taxes”

How much of my hard earned money does a loser who relies on govt assistance like JoeB or IM2 get to steal?

Fair share indeed

wow, I am living in your head, aren't I buddy? For the record, I've paid for my own health insurance for the last 33 years since parting ways with the military. Even though I'm entitled to use VA hospitals, I still go with private insurance.

if you stopped money-grubbing for five seconds (I know, genetically impossible), you'd see the scope of the problem.

The US pays 17% of its GDP on health care. Most UH countries spend 8 to 11%. So you are already paying for other people getting health care.

In addition to taxes to pay for Medicare, Medicaid, the VA, and other options, for those of us who have private insurance, the cost of that insurance is tacked onto every product we buy. GM spends more on health insurance than it does on Steel.

Now, it would be fine if we had the best healthcare system in the world, but we don't. We have the lowest life expectancy and highest infant mortality rate among advanced countries.

The biggest thing we could do to lower healthcare costs is eliminate the middle-man.

Unite healthcare all by itself made a profit of nearly $23 billion dollars last year. If you expand that to the biggest 6, which comprise 30% of the market, that nearly $100 billion.

So if 30% made $100 billion, than 100% probably made around 1/3 of a trillion dollars.

Look, we just cut healthcare expenses by 35% and nobody touched the DR.s salary.
You've just pushed those expenses onto government.

Health care is so expensive is because people think it should be free.

Ah, a Libertarian Child's view of the universe.

The reason it's so expensive is that the usual market forces don't apply.

You can always choose to not buy a new car this year if it's too expensive.

You really can't choose to not treat your cancer.

The system as of now isn't working. There must be ways to fix it including not denying credible claims. That's simply wrong.

Joe's out of arguments. Doesn't take long. Troll mode it is

There's just no point talking to children with their magical view of the world.

Health care is expensive because there's a profit motive for human misery.

There's a reason why police and fire departments aren't privatized. The same should apply to hospitals.

With UH there isn’t any negotiation. They have to do what the Govt tells em. Here MDs can choose not to work with certain insurance providers
UH nations negotiate with big pharma , which our insurance industry does not Az

Big pharma has made up the dif in the UsofA

Big insurance owns the majority of US hospitals , save for VA and Medicare ,JACHO only sets the rules of operation

Those MD's within the insurance cabal network are remunerated by them, those outside are able to ask what the market will bare , with CODB considered

Why healthcare is so high.
Insurers and doctors do a dance where a doctor quotes a high number to see if he gets lucky, insurance declines, doctor comes back with a lower fee…back and forth

Universal healthcare eliminates that
Universal healthcare is like distributing food equally...everyone will go hungry. :omg:
