Universal Healthcare question for everyone

No. My OP stated that it costs a lot to become a doctor in the US so they need to be paid well. And yeah that is part of the problem. You agree.
I'm overpaid for what I do, but the cost of living demands it. I think there is a general disconnect in this regard.

You've just pushed those expenses onto government.
Nope. I just listed their profits, not their overall revenue. The government doesn't make profits.

Their over all revenue is in the trillions.

Yes. And the proof is in the pudding. No country that has UHC is interested in abolishing their system and replace it with what we have. Are doctors and health care workers out in the streets demanding better pay in the UK or Canada etc etc? No.
They aren’t carrying college / med school debt and their populations are small compared to ours

And a funny thing happened. Those doctors realized they couldn't afford malpractice insurance and six employees to handle insurance claims on their own, so they all joined medical groups.

It started with the avalanche of frivolous lawsuits in the 70-80s. The Democrat Party was all for it, the GOP said it was against it, but the Dems held the Congress. The legal profession and the Democrat Party conspired to enrich and empower themselves at America's expense.

Not necessarily. We would have to institute other reforms also. Such as malpractice reforms. Then their costs go down also.

Of course since this country runs strictly on greed it will never happen.
Malpractice is a good item to compare.

We see that for most government employees -- a Doctor in Universal Healthcare is now just a government employee -- they enjoy qualified immunity. This is how you propose to do away with malpractice.

So, a person loses a loved one due to an incompetent government doctor -- which will be most of them after adjustments are made and time passes -- that doctor will never be held responsible for his/her malpractice.

But hey, it may or may not save the rest of the population a few hundred dollars a year in costs.

BTW, in order to keep costs down for the government (you know, those cost controls) people will have to be denied certain services, some of them even life saving services.

I disagree.

Not necessarily. As already pointed out we could quit funding stupid useless wars. You don't take into consideration how many are already paying thousands of dollars a year for insurance.

Let's do it.

No we wouldn't.

Maybe.

People aren't keeling over dead in UHC countries.

No idea if this is true or not or how it is even relevant.

We do.

And that will go.

Sure, and we need to address that.

We add extra costs to medicine because we require medication to be fully tested.https://publichealth.jhu.edu/2018/cost-of-clinical-trials-for-new-drug-FDA-approval-are-fraction-of-total-tab
I do not know about you but I like the idea of new procedures and better practices being used. While old ideas may work sometimes they cause problems that were not foreseen ten years ago. But hey you want to have a new hip then have it replace four or five years later because the parts were not up to modern standards that is up to you.

No debt means they'll work cheap Az

Especially if we (UsofA) reciprocates via credentials achieved with socialist ed countries

I live in whiteopia , but the local ER looks like a UN convention due to this ........~S~
