Yes but the spy balloons are at very high altitudes if they are working properly. There's a big difference between a spy balloon and a drone with very limited range, and operating at low altitudes.

Right I don't advocate shooting it down but why not fly another capable drone towards them? use cameras on the drone to see them close up?

My mistake, yes that particular drone was in CA I didn't realize it.
