I was always briefed one of the goals for Iraq was to create a stable platform in the Mideast. Because of its location in reference to Syria and Iran, the fact was at the time we were shutting down operations in prince sultan airbase Saudi and being moved out of there at the end of 02 due to pressure from the royal family and our contract was up. Qatar was a build up staging ground for the Iraq war instead of Saudi. Anyway, what I was briefed was Iraq would have year rotational deployments similar to South Korea. But it seems politics took hold and that plan was shelved.

The world is going to shit and now is not the time to show weakness and flight, it will always cost more latter on if we do that, more in lives and money. It is good in theory to leave and say screw the world, but using history as a reference, it always fails for every civilization throughout antiquity thru today.

and the fact that we are in Europe Africa and the Mid East and Asia as a military gives us global power/ global reach without these key places where we have tankers and infrastructure to wage battles anywhere on the planet reducing and removing these forces will diminish that capability as it is being diminished. It will cost more to put these assets back in place and we lose weeks of time to strike anywhere due to the logistics and movement of resources people and equipment. Cost goes up and we would have to logistically move and have agreements with countries to move these assets to assist, because existing agreements now would be obsolete since we are no longer there. We would lose respect credibility and he'll any American traveling would be even more suseptible to attack....

The undeniable fact is that 911 was planned, financed, trained and staged under Clinton, who did almost as much as Obama to weaken the US military.
