"Three Jewish scientists - two of them Israelis who emigrated to the U.S. - won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry on Wednesday.

Arieh Warshel, Michael Levitt and Martin Karplus were awarded the top international prize for the development of multiscale models for complex chemical systems.

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences on Wednesday said, upon awarding the prize of 8 million crowns ($1.25 million), that their research in the 1970s has helped scientists develop programs that unveil chemical processes such as the purification of exhaust fumes or the photosynthesis in green leaves."

"The work of Karplus, Levitt and Warshel is ground-breaking in that they managed to make Newton's classical physics work side-by-side with the fundamentally different quantum physics," the academy said. "Previously, chemists had to choose to use either/or."

All three winners are American citizens, but also hold dual citizenships.

The world will be a much better place for these scientists.

Congrats . I'm sure they will made more effective chemical weapons

Good things happen after bailing out of a sinking ship.

The two men are citizens of the US, immigrants to the US.

It sounds like they may solve some of the pollution problems around the planet, Connery. Kudos to the men and their families who probably worked more overtime than any humans alive to do this remarkable feat that will help clean up the atmosphere and enable other scientists to expand on their progressive approach to multiscale models.

 :)

Chalk up two more for Israel and the Jews. Meanwhile, 1.2 billion Muslims have only total 4 Nobel prizes. Pretty pathetic and indicative of their culture of hate, death, and destruction.

I agree becki. This development benefits all, regardless of their religion, politics etc

They hold dual citizenship....
Anti Semetism is A menial illness.
It certainly is a mental illness, and I wonder what her therapist says. One of the winners, Martin Karplus, fled as a child to the US from Nazi-occupied Austria. Imagine if Frau Sherri and her bestest friend, Ilsa Koch, could have caught him. They would have had no problem handing him over to the Nazis to be sent to the camps where Ilsa could have yelled at him "Achtung Juden" and Frau Sherri would have just giggled. By the way, I think Frau Sherri should actually research and see how many dual citizens there are in the U.S. from many different countries so she would not make such asinine remarks in the future.

So since you are now living in Turkey, Nox, do the Turks ever talk about their killing over a million Armenians along with Assyrians and Greeks? After all, the Turks didn't need chemical weapons for this. They had their trusty swords.

Peaceful swords of Islam, never the less.

So Noxious' "logic" goes - "It was wrong and cowardly for Armenians to kill Turkish women and children. Therefore, killing Armenian women and children in retaliation was NOT wrong or cowardly"

There appears to be some inconsistency in the above "logic"......

Wow thats some good work, and I am not surprised to see the usual jealous comments from the anti semetic peanut gallery.

Weird. All 3 of these men are US citizens, they've lived here for decades, the work they are being honored for was done in the 70's IN America, AT American universities.

Yet out of the dozens of articles on the subject you choose to post the one the emphasizes their israeli jewishness.

And you post it in the Middle East forum.

Why?

What's weird is your inability to handle success and achievement in the Jewish community.
