Turnover machine, Mahomes or Allen

6th in yards will get Rivers in. He won games with a franchise without a lot of history of success. If titles were all that matter, Dan Marino, Dan Fouts, and a lot of others wouldn't be in the Hall either.
Dan Marino didn’t have the titles but he was considered one of the best QBs of his era. Same with Fouts.

Rivers is competing with Brady, P Manning, Brees, Rodgers, Big Ben, Eli. Where does he rank on that list? 5th at best? Maybe ahead of Ben and Eli?

The Chiefs have played 3 shitty teams and needed all sorts of luck to win. The past has no meaning or bearing on games being played THIS year. Right now the Bills are better than the Chiefs and Allen is better than Mahomes right now.
are Allen and the Bills losing by 4 scores to a shitty team?

Allen is the runaway MVP frontrunner right now. That can change but right now the Bills are the best team in the league and Allen is the best QB. Kansas City is living on luck and a shady PI call. They are far from a favorite right now.

Ummmm…. You were saying?

This year:

Mahomes: 5 TD, 4 INT
Allen: 7 TD, 0 INT

Allen has been playing extremely well. We’ll see if he can continue that in the playoffs. We know how dangerous Mahomes is in the playoffs.

Update:

Mahomes: 6 TD, 6 INT
Allen: 8 TD, 0 INT

Allen struggled in the last game. Mahomes isn't putting up great numbers either, but the Chiefs are winning.

Seems like both of these guys could be doing better if they had better weapons. Allen needs Shakir back and Mahomes can't afford to injure his own receivers any more. Rashee Rice's season is over.

There's really no denying Mahomes is playing like shit (by his normal standards at least). In my view, his biggest problem is that both of his offensive tackles suck. When they're not canceling touchdowns with stupid penalties, they're letting the defensive line march right around them. This makes Mahomes nervous in the pocket and eager to get rid of the ball, to the point that he's making bad passes, or throwing it away when he might have scrambled and pulled of a pass to Kelce in the past.

Basically what happened is the Chiefs traded Tyreek Hill for a great defense. The defense has carried them for the last couple of years. Now they're trying to build their offense back up, but injuries have kind of nullified that effort so far.

You weren’t saying anything when Allen won offensive player of the week 2 times in 3 games. He had a couple of bad games, but still hasn’t thrown any picks, which is encouraging. It’s too early for you to be gloating.

Haha. If you didn’t come in here sucking Allen’s dick every time he has a good game I wouldn’t rub your nose in it when he doesn’t.

I don't see any point in the animosity. I'm a huge Chiefs fan, but I have nothing but respect for Allen. If he'd had Reid for a coach the last five years he might be flying higher than Mahomes.

I don't have anything against Allen either as I've said in this thread and others I think he's an exceptionally talented player. Rocko likes to cry bully in his threads about how Allen is better than Mahomes when anyone pushes back. The reality is as talented as Allen is he's not better than Mahomes. He's not more accomplished. Maybe he would be better under Reid. Maybe he would be better with more weapons (Diggs was a pretty solid weapon) but I'm not convinced of that. Other than Tyreek Hill I don't think the Chiefs have had better offensive weapons than the Bills. Kelce is amazing but I don't think he's a greater threat than Diggs was and the reality is we have to deal with what is not what might have been. The bottom line is Mahomes has 3 SB wins, 3 SB MVP's, 2 regular season MVP's, 4 SB appearances, 6 AFC championship appearances with 4 wins, the earliest he's been bounced from the PO's is the AFC Championship game. Allen has none of those accomplishments. None. Mahomes is already 3rd in PO wins all time and will be 2nd behind Brady alone after this year more than likely. If both Mahomes and Allen retired today. Mahomes is a 1st Ballot HOFer and Allen doesnt get a jacket.

I don’t think anyone is arguing that Mahomes isn’t heading for the Hall of Fame. He obviously is.

The biggest criticism against Allen has been his turnovers and his inability to win in the playoffs. Well, so far, he hasn’t thrown an interception yet. That’s pretty impressive and deserves some praise, especially considering that he has done it with less to work with on offense.

Meanwhile, despite Mahomes’ greatness, this year he’s not taking great care of the ball (or his top receiver). The Chiefs defense has been amazing and they’re a big reason why they’re undefeated. I’m sure Mahomes steps it up in the playoffs though because he always does.

Addressing their careers, I believe the Chiefs have had more superstar power around Mahomes than Allen has had. Tyreek Hill, Chris Jones, and Travis Kelse are all definitely going into the HOF along with Mahomes. Who is going to the HOF on Allen’s side?

The question isnt are both of them on a HOF trajectory. They most certainly are. That said if both retired today, one is a 1st ballot HOFer and the other doesnt get into the hall which is to demonstrate how disparate their careers are currently.

No one has said Allen isnt a great player.

Why the dig about Rice getting injured?

Tyreek was only there for the 1st SB, Mahomes has won 2 back to back without him. As far as the talent around Allen, he's had Diggs, Von Miller and he's almost always had a good defense.

Since 2018 (Allen's rookie year) it's 3-3 on who's had the better defense. I used points allowed as I feel that's the better metric than yds allowed who cares how many yards you give up that's not how the game is won and lost. (If I'd used yds allowed it's 5-1 Bills BTW).

Again no one is saying or has said Allen isnt a great QB. He is. But we arent comparing him to average players we are comparing him to someone who if he stays on his current trajectory will be the best to ever play the position.

Tyreek is way better than Diggs. Tyreek is definitely going to the HOF. I can’t say the same about Diggs. Allen played with Diggs for 4 years. Mahomes played with Tyreek for 4 years (as starters). That advantage definitely goes to Mahomes.

Travis Kelce, another HOF player, has been with Mahomes for Mahomes’ entire career.

Von Miller lol. His best days are long behind him. Last time he made the pro bowl was in 2019 before he was with the Bills. Chris Jones has been in his prime, making consecutive pro bowls and all-pro teams since Mahomes has been in the league.

Mahomes has the better career accomplishments obviously, but he has also had a much better supporting cast.

Diggs didn’t make the all pro team until he played with Allen. Diggs isn’t even the best player on his team. Nico Collins is. Hill is waaaaaay better than Diggs. And Kelce is better than anyone else on the Bills.

Diggs is better than Kelce? Dude thanks for the laugh

Where did I say Diggs was better than Kelce? Diggs is/was a 1000-1500 yd receiver who got you 8-10 TD's a year. Kelce is/was a 1000-1400 yd receiver who got you 8-10 TD's a year. How is Kelce a greater threat than Diggs which is what I said. BTW. Digss was a 1000-1200 yd receiver good for 8-10 TDs before he went to Buffalo, with Cousins as his QB and having Jefferson on his team which can be a curse and a blessing. Jefferson sucks up coverage but he also sucks up receptions.

They’re different positions. Kelce is better at what he does than Diggs is at what he does.

Kelce is definitely going to the Hall of Fame. Diggs probably isn’t.

Ok. The HOF is positional though. You are compared to the other players at your position not the league as a whole. Kelce is certainly an anomaly at his position which is why he will go to the HOF But if his production is essentially the same how is the benefit to the team greater? Do TD's scored by TE's count for more than ones scored by WR's? Do TE's only have to go 8 yds for a 1st down while WR's have to get the full 10? If Diggs were a TE with his stats he'd go to the HOF as well.

Apples and oranges. Tight ends and wide receivers are not the same.

Their touchdowns and yards count the same, but they do different jobs. Tight ends are bigger and they spend a lot more time blocking than wide receivers.

If Diggs were a TE, he’d get smashed by much bigger players on the line and wouldn’t last as long as he has. That’s why he’s not a TE. It’s not that complicated.

Diggs never played with Jefferson, Einstein

Kelce does not spend most of his time blocking. Kelce is a WR playing TE. They play him like a WR. That's my point. And in the end their contribution to their respective teams is essentially the same.

Ok. Doesn’t change the point. His stats were very similar in Minny and Buffalo. And to the point his stats in Buffalo are essentially the same as Kelce's (Diggs' are actually better). Bottom line is that Diggs and Kelce's production in yards and scoring are nearly identical. The only reason one is seen as greater than the other is they play different positions but that doesn't change their contribution on the field.
