It is a different $1000. The money you were given for rent went to rent, exactly as intended. If you have a job and got another $1000 in wages that you spent on a TV, then it’s separate.

Who says they’re all poor as dirt? Many are living in air-conditioned houses and apartments, watch cable on their large flat-screen TVs, have iPhones, get hundreds of dollars in tax-free food stamps a month, own cars, and have left over for drinks at the bar, cigarettes, and tattoos.

If they’re able-bodied, they need to work or volunteer at least 20 hours a week to keep the Medicaid on. What’s so horrible about that?

Big screens TV cost $400 in Canada. I have three smart TV's in my apartment - a 32" inch in my sewing room $150; a 42" in the bedroom; and a 60" and I paid less than $1000 for the three of them. And if you're not living in air conditioning in this day and age, you're in danger of dying from the heat.
