Trump wants to end Daylight Saving Time

I really don't give a shit what they do, just keep it one time.....How fuckin' hard is that?

Then again, we have a congress that can't even agree on what to name a walking trail in a National Park.

I don't know who or how but someone is benefitting financially from the clock changing, otherwise it would have been stopped years ago. The senate passed bill calling for daylight time all year but the house refuses to vote on it-----------why? Who is paying them to keep this foolishness in place?

I've read most of this thread and no one knows the difference (including Trump) between DST and Standard Time? DST keeps it lighter in the evening whereas standard is what we have now and it gets dark around 5PM depending on where you are located. The bills that have been in congress for a few years is to get rid of standard time so it would be lighter in the evenings.

At least you seem to know the difference between DST and Standard. I kind of think Trump meant getting rid of standard. It wouldn't make sense the other way around because golfers couldn't play longer in the day at his courses.

Trumps agenda is opposed because he’s an economic imbecile who went bankrupt 7 times when he was in business and crashed the US economy the first time he was in office.

Everyone wants to go to DST permanently, except for one thing: getting up and going to work in the dark.

The concern is for school children leaving for school in the dark mornings in winter.

The sun came up at 7:50 this morning across the northern US states. Under DST it would be 8:50 and kids would be going to school in the dark for December and January.

The after work commute in the dark which results in more accidents during this same time frame is not a concern.
