Florida is so far south, in the winter, the days are much longer anyhow. I never really notice much of a difference. Of course, the best months to play golf were in December, January and March. February was often too cold.

It obvious that you haven’t figured out that if Daylight Savings Time is eliminated, getting dark early in the winter will remain.

Exactly. The darkness issue for school kids o cured because they tried to EXTEND DST not eliminate it.

DLST means that it stays light later. With longer days the mornings are in sunlight earlier as well.

Having the sun come up well before anyone is doing anything seems dumb

When I went to school in the mid 70s, it was dark when I went to school in the morning, DST or not. Of course, my bus came at 6:10 AM.

I believe with the time switching forward this weekend will bring the issue to the forefront again. Perhaps the Congress can fix it this time. I still like my proposal to just shift back 1/2 hour in the fall and keep it the same year round.
