They announced it in n Jan 9th. BEFORE trump even took office. It had been in their planning for 5 years. Overall , investment , especially foreign investment is way down. trump's actions are having the reverse effect. People do not want to invest in a nation where the atmosphere is belligerent and a tyrant lives. Congress and the Supreme Court are enabling trump to be this bad.

Six years ago, former Wisconsin governor Scott Walker made a deal with the Taiwanese company, Foxconn. In exchange for a $3 billion dollar subsidy, Foxconn promised to build a $10 billion factory that would create 13,000 jobs.
Under a new agreement announced in April 2021, Foxconn will reduce its planned investment to $672 million with 1,454 new jobs. Tax credits available to the project were reduced to $8 million.

I wasn't really referring to no income tax on people making less than 150k/yr. I was talking about the idea of cutting taxes in general, or keeping the previous cuts in place. In order for no income tax to work, we would need to add a VAT tax or something similar, which I am fine with.

The tarrifs will take time to take effect....and they will be increased if more manufacturing doesn't happen. Feasibility studies have to be done. Site surveys and proposals need done.
Blue flight is a real thing affecting the Congress soon as people move put of Blue states to Red states. California and NY both are losing seats. They certainly are not getting new plants or jobs.
Soon they will be known as lousy places to even visit....get in and out quick.
Trump wants a $200k/yr middle class America. With enough manufacturing jobs to make that happen....and he wants to use tarrifs to accomplish it because of the world economic climate of slave labor and subsidies.

You were talking about increasing people's paychecks by 20-30% by cutting their taxes.
That sort of tax-cutting will 100% cause a default.
But now you are switching gears and talking about new taxes to make up the shortfall...by putting more of tax burden onto low income brackets.
You are just making this up on the fly, this is not a serious conversation about adequately thought out taxation scheme.
