Trump wants $230,000,000.00 from the US taxpayer.

A fair number of them were convicted for lying about their connections and communications with Russians.

In that context, it makes their campaign look highly suspicious and warrants investigation.

Which means Trump's complaint is worthless.

It's only worthless if an impartial determination is made. Trump filled the government with loyalists who would say black is white, up is down, or anything else if Trump asked them to.

They know Trump's litigation record. If they tossed it, Trump would have tied them up in court endlessly, and at great expense to the federal government.

It was cheaper to let the cases proceed knowing the DOJ would ultimately be able to reject the claims, rather than to toss them out.
You clearly are out of your league. The DOJ could reject the claims, why didn’t they?

President Trump is demanding that the Justice Department pay him about $230 million in compensation for the federal investigations into him, according to people familiar with the matter, who added that any settlement might ultimately be approved by senior department officials who defended him or those in his orbit.

The situation has no parallel in American history, as Mr. Trump, a presidential candidate, was pursued by federal law enforcement and eventually won the election, taking over the very government that must now review his claims. It is also the starkest example yet of potential ethical conflicts created by installing the president’s former lawyers atop the Justice Department.

Given that the Trump Administration is an open sewer of corruption, it is no surprise that he wants 1/4 billion from us. Trump has his sycophants in place, so he will be paid what he wants. The Trump family which has made billions off his cryptocurrency scams also has an insatiable appetite for more money. The monetization of the presidency continues. Trump's greed has no bounds.

Let's face it. The US we knew is no longer. We live in a kleptocracy.
he's also stated that he will donate it all to charity if he is compensated for the weaponizing of the justices system by the Dems ..

I just told you. If they rejected them in 2023 or 2024, Trump would have tied them up in court.

If they just continued to process them through the normal DOJ process, they would save a ton of litigation.

DUH !!!!!

Trump also said he would donate his entire salary to charity in 2016. He didn't do that either.

got a reliable link proving he doesn't donate his salary ?
Trump said he would donate it all.
He didn't donate it all, he kept some of it.

Which is typical Trump. Like with the Trump charity.

How? If they reject them now, he can still take it to court

The newly released returns reveal that he consistently reported wages between $373,629 and $393,928 while he was in office, in line with the official presidential salary of $400,000. And for three years, he made charitable contributions of $1,860,963 in 2017, $500,150 in 2018, and $504,700 in 2019.

But in 2020, Newly released tax returns of former President Donald Trump reveal that his reported charitable giving fell to $0 by the time he left office.

That's the point. An honest DOJ would reject the claims, and it would go to court to be adjudicated.

Instead Bondi and Bove will at Trump's orders, have the DOJ take $230 M from the taxpayers, and give it to their boss.

He is more than welcome to donate his own money instead of stealing it from the government.

So what you are saying is the Xiden DOJ in 2023 and 2024 wasn't honest, well that we can agree on

You're being deliberately stupid.
The process takes time, and any early rejection would have resulted in significant litigation costs.
Letting it proceed through the usual channels would prevent Trump's lawfare against the DOJ.

So, it's going through the usual channels...what's your issue with that?

The usual channels used to be career DOJ lawyers. Trump has since fired hundreds of them (or they resigned because they ordered to do something that violated their oath to the constitution, and the law).
And instead filled the place with crony's who would violate the law, and the constitution if asked to.

Who from this department had he fired?

Donald Trump has replaced career officials and interim appointees with a series of new individuals, most notably appointing Pam Bondi as the new Attorney General, replacing the previous acting Attorney General, and also replacing numerous U.S. attorneys, such as Erik Siebert with Lindsey Halligan. He has also made changes to other top positions in the Department of Justice, including reassigning key career officials.
