Trump signs executive order quadrupling beef imports from Argentina

Is this America first? How does allowing foreign imports of beef help American cattle ranchers when it will drive down the price they are able to sell their products at?

This post is a perfect example of someone who is so obsessed with Trump, he is willing to sacrifice America in the hope of hurting him.

If American cattle ranchers had made moves to increase the size of the herd to meet demand, this would not be necessary, but they haven't, so the President has taken action to protect US consumers from outrageously high prices for beef supplied by American ranchers.

You were warned but too many people chose to believe the white racist narrative about Harris. So America must now live with the conequences of that decision.
Yeah, what happened to all those democrats who came out for the old white guy but refused to vote for the Indian woman? Republicans wouldn't have voted for her if she was a pink howler monkey, so the problem seems to be with democrats.

Or even if they are making moves, this isn't a movie where things are all resolved in two hours. Increasing herd size and output takes time.

This won't put American ranchers out of business, they will still be getting above average value for their sales. All this does is trim the excess a bit.

Perhaps they should have managed their herds better and not drive the price up in the first place
Yes blame it on AMERICAN RANCH PEOPLE,
sure you will be happy that ARGENTINE RANCHES, will do a better job for us?????

Pro-MAGA voices groan over Trump’s latest beef buyout plan

The Trump administration’s simmering beef with American cattle ranchers continued this past weekend following Donald Trump’s announcement of a massive new investment in Argentina’s meat market.

One of the biggest storylines last fall and winter was the bipartisan backlash Trump and his administration received as they showered Argentina and its pro-MAGA president, Javier Milei, with U.S. tax dollars and commitments to purchase Argentinian beef. This was all part of a transparent effort to prop up Milei’s government as it faced growing backlash over its destructive, poverty-inducing economic agenda. And unsurprisingly, many American ranchers — a group that has largely voted in Trump’s favor over the years — didn’t take too kindly to the idea of the self-described “America First” president bailing out one of their biggest competitors as the president’s trade war undercuts American industries.

So it almost goes without saying that the executive order Trump signed last week authorizing the United States to quadruple its imports of Argentinian beef isn’t going over all that well either, including among pro-Trump voices.

Even R's know trump's actions are a steaming cow pie.

What do tarriffs have to do with US ranchers selling beef IN THE US?

The main group representing American cattle ranchers has said the increase in imports is a "misguided effort" and will damage the "livelihoods of American cattlemen and women, while doing little to impact the price consumers are paying at the grocery store."

In a statement in October, when plans for expanding imports were first reported, the National Cattlemen's Beef Association said it "cannot stand behind the President while he undercuts the future of family farmers and ranchers by importing Argentinian beef in an attempt to influence prices."

Dotard put tariffs on imported beef from Australia, New Zealand and Brazil. He could lower them to where they were if he wanted to reduce prices but he'd rather prop up his anarcho-capitalist lackey in Argentina.
