Trump says FEMA to be wound down after hurricane season

How does the fact someone has or has not used FEMA services have any bearing on the claim that FEMA has been an ineffective money pit for its entire existence?
If you have used FEMA services, you would know the good they do and just how effective they are.

Nobody said they intend to quit giving out aid. Do not trust the so-called legacy media/MSM like NBC to report anything honestly or in its full context if they can turn it into propaganda for the TDS afflicted to feed on.

Here's a more balanced story on the concept:
From your article:
Trump suggested that in the future, less disaster aid for any recovery efforts would be provided by the federal government — but if sought, would come directly from the president’s office.

A very good idea...It has been nothing but an ineffective money pit for its entire existence.
The literally millions of people who have gotten aide over the decades, many if not most in red states, would disagree with you.

If you have used FEMA services, you would know the good they do and just how effective they are.
Nonsense.
FEMA could have been absolutely wonderful in your experience, and still be an ineffective money pit for its entire existence.

I'm thinking there are likely millions that have been helped that would disagree.
Been through THREE major hurricanes, Charlie, Ian and Milton.

Saw FEMA once. One time.

The folks that tarped the roof were the 7th Day Adventists. The group handing out food was the Catholic Church. The Baptists came around and helped clean up debris and the State of Florida and the county coordinated trucking the debris away.

FEMA was useless.

FEMA fckd themselves with North Carolina. Totally useless

FEMA can provide up to $42,500 for Housing Assistance and up to $42,500 for Other Needs Assistance. These maximums apply to disasters declared in Fiscal Year 2024 and may be adjusted for future years. Some types of assistance, like initial "Serious Needs Assistance", do not count toward these limits. FEMA.gov can offer additional financial support even if your insurance already covers some costs.
Not any more thanks to Fat Donnie

Dude I know people in NC. Sit the fck down and shut the fck up
oh….the old, “I know a guy” response

Today, the state is still receiving a 90% cost share. Due to the severity of the disaster with Hurricane Helene, exacerbated by the previous administrations’ mismanagement and neglect, FEMA is currently providing North Carolina a 90% federal cost share, far exceeding the normal 75% and the same amount the state of North Carolina requested on December 6, 2024.

If FEMA was an "ineffective money pit for its entire existence" it would have been disbanded long ago. Not that it is perfect, especially when incompetents are appointed to head it, like Michael Brown, but it has done a good job in responding to disasters.

States pay into FEMA to be able to collect.

If Trump cancels FEMA, he also cancels debts paid by states to be in the club. States will control their own destiny and do it very much faster.
What part of the "United States" do you hate? We are all in this together. Do it much better?
Here is NC, just a few days ago.
