They counted the income I made in Oregon for the months of the year I moved reported on my Federal 1040 gross for the year as taxable by California in determining my tax bracket on the California brackets. They weren't deducting anything from the Oregon income, they were counting it in what I owed them, then dinged me for another $10K for those 5 months. They're crooks. There have been some lawsuits since then, don't know if they still do, and don't care, I'm never doing any business with anybody from that state. Since I buy a lot of stuff on my contracts at the time over the 27 years since, it has cost them a lot more than that than they made from f**king me.
