The Light of Truth
Looks like the funding will be folded into DHS, where FEMA currently resides, and allocated from an office therein.Correct. He can't flippantly cancel funding already approved by Congress.

Life is a gamble....Deal with it.I'm all for that if we can count on stuff like that every time a natural disaster occurs, but it's a bit of a gamble, don't you think? There should still be some type of federal or state oversight to coordinate and/or cooperate with the private sector. Sometimes people helping on their own get in over their head and then they need rescuing too.

And you demand perfection in an imperfect world, in order to shitcan something that is clearly ineffective and costly beyond any reason....This is why nobody with any sense takes you statist bootlickers seriously. So you have no solutions. This is why you people aren't taken seriously.
FEMA can provide up to $42,500 for Housing Assistance and up to $42,500 for Other Needs Assistance. These maximums apply to disasters declared in Fiscal Year 2024 and may be adjusted for future years. Some types of assistance, like initial "Serious Needs Assistance", do not count toward these limits. FEMA.gov can offer additional financial support even if your insurance already covers some costs. Not really certain where to put this one. The administration intends to eliminate FEMA after the current hurricane season and give out less money. I believe that requires Congress however.

Trump says FEMA to be wound down after hurricane season
Carter created FEMA to consolidate a number of federal relief agencies under one roof.Life is a gamble....Deal with it.
The "federal oversight" of FEMA has been just like every other outrageously costly and toweringly failed federal program, all he way from HUD to food stamps to the the Pentagon.
North Carolina can handle it or not, I guess. Or maybe they call and if Trump likes you he gives you some money.Fair enough. What is the alternative when something like the North Carolina incident happens next time?

Most FEMA aid is going to red states
Explain to those who lost their homes that Trump terminated it
So it became one giant leech instead of hundreds of little leeches.Carter created FEMA to consolidate a number of federal relief agencies under one roof.
yupCurtailing / phasing out FEMA and moving its job directly to DHS is little more than an organizational chart shuffle.
no they can not handle it. Do you want me to show YOUNorth Carolina can handle it or not, I guess. Or maybe they call and if Trump likes you he gives you some money.
If there's anything that spends more money than necessary to do a particular job, its the federal government. So it became one giant leech instead of hundreds of little leeches.

I'm sure this is news to all the people in Asheville, whose lives were ruined by FEMA actively blocking those resources.FEMA can provide up to $42,500 for Housing Assistance and up to $42,500 for Other Needs Assistance. He said the Federal government would be giving out less money.Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

good one. I liked the "black helicopter paranoia cranks like yourself compared to my pragmatic common sense approach."And your hysteric hyperbole only furthers my point. There is nothing statist about me. I'm just smarter than you. I agree that FEMA is inefficient and incompetent at times. It doesn't mean that we throw everything out the window and tell people, "Hey! Life isn't fair. Sorry guys. Good luck and don't die." Since Trump is this master reformer that you guys claim, why doesn't he hire more competent leadership to run the organization? How about a partnership with the state governments and local relief organizations or groups like the truckers you mentioned earlier who can be readied and prepared when the next disaster strikes? To me, that would sound like competent leadership, but as we've seen over and over again, competency isn't what you people voted for. You just think you did.
By all means, though, you take your "Life isn't fair, hope you don't die" solution to the American people. You're delusional if you actually believe you're going to be taken more seriously by anyone other than black helicopter paranoia cranks like yourself compared to my pragmatic common sense approach.
