I have to say, regardless of whether it's a legit gift or not, this is a really bad look....Not just for the nation, but also for Boeing. These dumb fks have no clue. Literally no clue.

Do you really think any deal will change the situation with China?China's coming to the bargaining table, Ted. They don't have a choice. Trump grasps that concept...you obviously don't. The US can buy it's goods from Vietnam...from India...from Indonesia. We don't need to support the CCP while they steal our intellectual property and poison us with Fentanyl. Every day that China postures and pretends it can out last the US in a trade war means another company moves it's factory out of China and into a country that has made a deal with Trump.

I wonder if you could be honest enough to admit if this plane, which the US government will spent millions on to make it suitable to be used as AF1, was going to be made the property of a Dem prez's library and therefore could be used by the former Dem prez after he leaves office, you'd be losing your mind.Maybe he'll loan it to J.D. for his two terms, Berg?![]()
I hate to break this to you, Ted but the move out of China was going on even before Trump won reelection.Problem with your theory, it will take years if not decades to move to Vietnam and Indomnesia...
No one is going to take that investment on with an erratic President who can change whims on who buys him his last Aeroplane...
I don't think ye understand the conditions needed for investment like that and China has the type of money for that kind of investment...
Also, US isn't the only game in town... US represents 15% of global imports, about the same as EU, about the same as CTTPP,.... So while china would get a hit for 15%, they still would have 85% of global market left... But moreimportntly, that would be the stable market, not volatile one on the whims of a guy who likes to take bribes..
It's a damn shame nothing even clicked in his head, that this was a bad look for America, for a President.....simply not a good idea for anyone!
‘ABC News on Sunday reported President Donald Trump is poised to accept “what may be the most valuable gift ever extended to the United States from a foreign government” — “a super luxury Boeing 747-8 jumbo jet from the royal family of Qatar” to be used “as the new Air Force One until shortly before he leaves office, at which time ownership of the plane will be transferred to the Trump presidential library foundation.”
According to ABC News, “the gift is expected to be announced next week” after “lawyers for the White House counsel's office and the Department of Justice drafted an analysis for Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth concluding that is legal for the Department of Defense to accept the aircraft as a gift and later turn it over to the Trump library.”
As AlterNet reported Sunday, the proposed gift — which aviation industry experts told ABC is estimated to value "about $400 million” — stunned Democrats and journalists alike. But, as news of the plane plan proliferated on social media Sunday, even some Republicans were concerned about conflicts of interest arising from the proposal.
“I’m sure the podcasters who are deeply alarmed by foreign influence will be all over this,” National Review editor Philip Klein wrote Sunday on X. “Call me a crazy RINO neocon, but I think it’s bad for the President of the United States to accept a $400 million ‘gift’ from an Islamist regime that funds terrorist organizations that murder Americans,” conservative writer and podcast host Ian Haworth argued. Conservative radio host Erick Erickson agreed.’

Why? Because they are degenerate democrats, that's why.
Leftism is for sale.America is for sale
Quite frankly I could care less. We the taxpayers don't have to shell out the money for a new plane...just spend a few million to make it suitable to be Air Force One? That's a no brainer...unless you've got TDS!I wonder if you could be honest enough to admit if this plane, which the US government will spent millions on to make it suitable to be used as AF1, was going to be made the property of a Dem prez's library and therefore could be used by the former Dem prez after he leaves office, you'd be losing your mind.
Manufacturing always moves . Furniture and clothing manufacturing moved from the New England area to the south and then to Asia.I hate to break this to you, Ted but the move out of China was going on even before Trump won reelection.
Why do you say that? The nation isn't too proud to take a brand new 747 gift. Maybe Boeing looks bad for not meeting delivery commitments?I have to say, regardless of whether it's a legit gift or not, this is a really bad look....Not just for the nation, but also for Boeing.
I could see if the plane is used as an exhibit at a future Trump LibraryThe terms state that the plane reverts to the ownership of the Trump Presidential Library Foundation, A.K.A Donald Trump.
Liberal liesIt is a bribe, plain and simple...
Facebook bribed him $25m
Trump cybercoin is just industrial level bribery....
Trump world wide is considered the type of guy you can grease the hand.... The boy is on the take....
He isn't the only leader on the take but he is the first US President that has a for sale sign on the front lawn... This is expensive for US, as this type of influence peddling and corruption really undermines US Economy... Corruption heveailly effects the level confidence in the market...
This is shown in Trump's actions already... Traavel the world and you see corruption as a massive inhibitor to commerce and investment.
Musk is filling his boots too...Starlink is on every Quatar flight... This is all subtle bribery...
This isn't a Libs v Cons thing, it is just fucking sad...
The CCP controls what's going on with Fentanyl, Care. If they want to stop the things needed to make the final product from going to the cartels in Mexico then they could do so tomorrow. I'm not making any deals with China until they stop killing us with their poison.Do you really think any deal will change the situation with China?
How will our manufacturers moving production to other countries like Vietnam, India, or Indonesia bring any of those manufactures back to the USA, which was supposedly a key goal to all of this...huh?
How would a trade deal end the China Fentanyl problem we have?
It is the right that is justifying lavish gifts from a foreign governmentLeftism is for sale.
Anything that weakens China is good for the US and the rest of the world, Lesh.Manufacturing always moves . Furniture and clothing manufacturing moved from the New England area to the south and then to Asia.
Moving manufacturing from China to Malaysia or Vietnam does virtually nothing for the US
Presidents can't receive gifts from leaders of other nations without congressional ok.
